  1. Ok, cheers guys. I'll make sure I keep all my documents and a signed logbook. Hopefully I'll be able to complete the consolidation jumps at empuria though. CAN - NOT - WAIT!!!!! Thanks again
  2. Hi, If everything goes to plan, I will be going to Empuriabrava to do my AFF course. However, I will only be there for 10 days. If the weather is good and I dont mess up too much then (correct me if i'm wrong ) I should be able to get my consolidation jumps and all my levels within that 10 day period (weather permitting) If the weather doesn't 'play ball' so to speak, will I be able to get the consolidation jumps at a different DZ (here in the UK)? I've got to go because the instructor is offering me a whole aff course for 1000 euros (because my dad used to jump with the instructor and they are good friends
  3. Ohhh ok, so the red canopy was his main, not his reserve. Thanks
  4. Hi, I was browsing youtube when I came upon this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpOCsQCKi7I&feature=PlayList&p=E697383A39F87C41&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=27 I can see that he's under his reserve and then flips over which causes his reserve to malfunction (or atleast I think thats what happens) However, It appears that his main is still attached because he uses that to get to the ground. I'm confused because I thought that when you cut away the main completely detaches hmmmm. So if you could clear that up for me
  5. That looks immense Where is that? the rock climbing there looks pretty cool.
  6. How much wind do you need to do that? (down a hill) Cheers
  7. Hi guys, I filled in my info after he asked, soz for confusion
  8. Thanks for the replies guys. Weather is an issue in the UK, it hasn't stopped raining here all week . Maybe that just makes the jumps you manage to do more special
  9. Are you and English teacher aswell as a skydiver? lol
  10. Thanks FreeAtLast. I'm definately going to get a packing course now. Cant wait!!!!!
  11. OK My local DZ definately sais (on their website) that you can take an AFF course at the age of 16 (with parental consent). Do you think Only 4 or 5 jumps a month for my first few months in the sport is too little jumps? (changing the subject )
  12. You have to have parental consent here too (if your 16) to do an AFF When you say: 16 with parental consent do you mean to do a static line?
  13. I live in Wales, UK. You can do an AFF at 16 here. Do you have to be 18 in America?
  14. My dad sais I should pack to pay for it asswell.
  15. Hi guys, I've been browsing this site for weeks now and it seems like theres a lot of knowledge flying around so I'll fire away... I'm 15 and my Bday is on the 28th of Feb. For my birthday i'd like to do an aff course (i've been saving up for ages ) The problem is I'll probably only be able to afford like 2 jumps every couple of weeks after I've got my A liscence. I'm also getting my GCSE's in June so I may not be able to jump at all for about month. After that however i'm going to get a part time job while I get my A levels so money wont be a problem after June (hopefully ). Untill then however should I bother getting my A liscence or wait untill I've got a job and can afford more jumps? Will it be more 'dangerous' to only jump about 4 jumps a month? . My mum says I should wait untill I have a job so I can jump a bit more often. (she used to skydive) But I think she doesnt want me to jump period I really realy want to jump because I'm soo curious about what freefall feels like. But maybe I should be patient. What do you think? Cheers guys
