He was an explorer. His dreams and his greed did compelled him,but regardless of who was flipping the bill,no matter the nation of finance, the exploitation would follow, as a matter of fact. An Oppenheimer's dilemma of sorts.

"Lies my teacher told me" would be simplistic at best.As would judging a man from the distant past by today's moral standard. I find reading what he wrote, without prejudice  a great looking glass.

“Let those who are fond of blaming and finding fault while they sit safely at home ask, ‘Why did you not do thus and so?’ I wish they were on this voyage.

We are evaluating the words in his posts and the worldview he expresses here. I'm assuming we are all okay and are all successful contributing members of society. Even the ones you and I block. Which does not include Winsor BTW. Even so, apparently you can never know when a billyvance may in in our midst.

We collectively, should know there is only one "World view" allowed on these forums. So I commend you in not blocking him,but disappointed that you actually block others, with what I assume a different worldview.I'm sure you have the heart of a lion, so why be bothered by the barks of dogs.

When My Right was abridged here, I was amazed.I told everyone I could at the DZ, twenty or so customers, and as many acquaintances. When I was asked where, I replied dropzonedotcom. The consensus was "oh that's a thing?" LOL

If you're familiar with the film Idiocracy, there was a great garbage avalanche.... On the northern edges of LA  there are three landfills also growing to epic proportions. The Chiquita,Sunshine and Lopez Canyon landfills chances of avalanche are slim, but who knows what the future holds.

There's a great updated version to the film, "Don't look up" it has a great cast. Covid and the critics didn't appreciate the political depictions, so it got no tomatoes, but a cult classic in the making.

There's a whole lot of debate as to where Columbus came from; the vast majority of the Portuguese-origin espousers are from (not surprisingly) Portugal.

    I'll agree,

Some also say he was a Jew, others Portuguese or Spamish. Others say from the non sicilian part of Italy Genoa, but not Bolona. With a bio like that. One would assume, he was American. LOL

But what would that have to do with the 11 or Columbus Day.

Is there any debate about the New Orleans lynching.

Columbus was Portuguese, which makes Columbus Day as an Italian holiday particularly ironic (nothing written by Columbus, to include letters to his family, suggets knowledge of Italian).

Being very anti-DEI can lead to very bad hires. I will paraphrase Mark Cuban here,

Many of those hires were so bad they have turned into memes, jokes, criminals or general laughing stock.

I'll have to disagree with you and Cubans assessment, in that they have everything to do with one another.

There's a trait among exceptional leadership in the ability to admit, when wrong.Bill Ackman demonstrated that character.Mark will get it https://www.businessinsider.com/bill-ackman-says-dei-is-racist-2024-1

It was like watching the Presidents each take a bite of a stinking shit sandwich; the same question,as they passed it around, mouths full of... they responded in chorus.   " Exquisite" LOL...

The past month has been a rollercoaster on this story, I'm not surprised at the lack of interest in the underlying rot this exposes within the DEI Institutions.Harvard in particular rejection of the supreme court ruling on Affirmative Action seems notable,as did Gays resistance to resign. Plagiarism and calls to genocide, just a matter of context.LOL

Carol Swains' concerns seemed particularly ironic as  double think, speak and double standard in academia became so apparent.

Like your response, Gays predicament and response is particularly enlightening.

I should have elaborated how that response would unfold. Like an investigation to find no wrongdoing,Apostles falling on their swords and of course the race, then victim card. The best one was that Harvard didn't want to make it appear they kowtow to billionaires.LOL

And you don't see the danger of allowing a politician to get away with financial and electoral fraud, rape and treason?  He's already been found liable for financial fraud and rape.  There is no question that he is an actual criminal.

If you want to see an example of using a justice system to target political opposition, look at the current targeting of the Biden family.  They couldn't find anything on Joe so they went after his son.  They are now not allowing his son to testify publicly, because they fear the truth coming out.

The party trying to hide the truth are never the good guys.

If it weren't for double standards the left wouldn't have any standard at all.

We haven't even started with Biden, we'll need about 24 months and 40 million to start a Special council inquiry. We'll load it up with our fav's.
