  1. Thanks for the info, I'm glad I didn't just drive down. I'm sure I would've detoured AC or Philly tho hehe. Yeah, I use USAirnet, but I figured that Atlantic City might be misleading with the uppers because it's by the water. www.wunderground.com gives ground winds and cloud cover. Although very vague, their U.S. wind map is kinda interesting to look at too.
  2. Hi Guys, I believe Crosskeys in NJ is open tomorrow and am thinking of going but I can't get anyone on the phone or via email. Can anyone tell me where the best place to get wind conditions are? I looked at Mount Holly and Millville for ground winds and they seem doable, but I can only get Atlantic City for the uppers and they look kinda crazy so I'd like a 2nd opinion. Thanks Ted
  3. I recently started working at a pretty uneventful job that pays decent and I have similar boredom issues. I do have a side business that I run where I outsource work so I'm emailing alot. But if you're looking to accomplish something, try out some online courses or hit up some DIY sites and learn some cool skills. Just tell people that Honda engine on your desk was a gift from grammie and they should leave you alone :)

  5. I only have a few jumps and had many issues with my landings until recently and here's a few things that helped me out. If you are renting gear, try and borrow the same gear each time until you are comfortable with your landings. Flare power differs from canopy to canopy. On no wind days, I find myself finishing the last part of my flare faster to get a little extra slow down before I touch. Know the winds when you go up, and also have a look at the windsock on final. This usually gives me a better idea of how to adjust the timing on my flare especially if winds have changed. I haven't quite gotten an instinctive feel for subtle differences in speeds under canopy. Have someone take video of your landings. I personally haven't done yet, but I hear it's a great way to get some good feedback. And everyone really speaks highly of canopy courses(I also need to take one of these), they're worth every bone in your body.
  6. ah cool, that's the one. Thanks, T
  7. Hi Guys, I remember seeing a company that does custom plush toys with rigs in an issue of the parachutist. But I can't seem to find their website, anyone know the URL? Thinking of getting a custom one for my sis who's a huge hello kitty fan and maybe I can convince her to do a jump Thanks, T
