  1. Wow, sorry to hear that. I don't know what I would do if my rig grew legs. I'm actually looking to have my rig insured by the end of this upcoming week. Good luck with all that and thanks for the input.
  2. Im not too worried about it. I recently had a 195 sqr ft F111 canopy with dacron lines in this infinity (with just a tad of closing loop showing) so i think the 168 though harder to pack should be able to fit. once I have it in the bag the spectra lines definitely will help versus the dacron lines. Have you tried pyscho bagging your pilot? If I cant s-fold the canopy in seeing how it will be brand new I might consider pyscho or just have a packer take care of it for the first 100 jumps (but that will add up real quick)
  3. I was told it might be a snug, was it worst when the canopy was new?
  4. Has anyone tried a Pilot 168 in an Infinity I-54? I was told it might be tight. I'm going to try it out with a demo canopy but in the mean time if anyone has any experience I would very much appreciate it.
  5. Keep in mind, quality is better then quantity in this case. Dont go out and do just "jumps". Get alittle ws coaching right now and practice mock ws flights, this way you'll be stelar when you do put one on. There is a post on here somewhere that I wrote along time ago for what to work on while getting ready for a ws, I just dont remeber where it is. Good luck. Most definitely. Trust me I feel bad for the next wingsuit flyer I come across at cross keys. Im gonna be like that really annoying kid that follows you around asking nonstop retarded ass questions.
  6. Man I cant wait to get a suit on. Looks like im gonna be jumping as much as I can afford over the next few months to get my jump numbers up. Hopefully ill run into some of you guys and will have a chance to pick your brain. Are there a good number of wing suiters around the skydive palatka fl area? Ill be visiting there in august.
  7. Why would a wingsuit be more likely to get in the way of tandem landings?
  8. Thanks To both of you. I will most likely be at crosskeys that weekend (weather limiting obviously) in april so hope to see you there. I finally got my own rig and im finally making good money so I plan to jump as much as possible and plan to be prepared for one of your events this summer. Cant wait.
  9. I have been contemplating all of the added risks due to wingsuit flying but I was hoping someone would be willing to list the major ones to help ease my curiosity. Having never flown one I can think of issues on exit and issues when deploying. I'm sure that some of the wingsuit flyers at my dropzone could answer these questions but I am just to impatient when I get these types of questions.
  10. What do you all think about the new tony suit intro or beginner wing suit? Will this bring down the jump numbers required before being able to put on a wing suit? Please no flaming I am by no means trying to rush into wingsuit flying and I definitely am not trying to get my self hurt. I will obviously wait till the appropriate time and train with the appropriate people but as I am sure most of you were I am very eager to to have a chance to fly.
  11. Thought I would bring this back to the top of the forum list in case someone has psycho packed a clipper. Anyone got any more insight?
  12. I agree with this statement. Winter is definitely a good time to look. I was able to piece together a rig for only $2300, but it took a lot of time, looking and patients. I was on dropzone checking every newly posted used gear listing for the past 3 months. I was able to slowly pick up parts of my rig as good deals came along. The only new component was the reserve. One main thing to consider is not being picky about colors or looks. I ended up with a jump suit that is rather elton john, but for only 80 dollars I didn't care how it looked. As for how I pieced a rig together for 2300 there are some other things that you might have to give on. I purchased a cypress with only 2 seasons left on it. My main is good and reliable but not a popular model so it was cheaper etc... Also the gear purchased was not ancient. DOM's - Canopy 2002/280 jumps, container infinity 2000/400 jumps, and reserve brand new.
  13. Chris I am trying to put it into an Infinity I-54 which is more ideal for a 150-170 ZP canopy. The last owner had a triathalon 175 and I figured I could get a 190 f-111 into it. It does fit (snug but not too bad) its just that I am finding currently that I am only able to bag it the way mentioned above. I figure I have all winter to practice the normal way of pro bagging too. Other than some brisk openings did you have much else to say about the canopy? How are the flight characteristics, and flare? Also did you ever have trouble making it back to the DZ? I cant wait to give this canopy a try but Ill have to wait till spring so any info you got would be appreciated.
  14. I did email red, and he gave me the response that I would expect from any canopy company really. I was advised that he does not have experience packing canopies that way and if I wanted to I could but the suggested packing method is pro pack. The thing about so called psycho packing or what some may say should really be called psycho bagging is that it is basically the same as pro packing and the only real difference is the method used to put the canopy in the bag. I find this sport very interesting in that you find many conflicting opinions on gear and rigging. I mean, hell you have some people who say that you would have to be crazy to psycho bag a canopy and then you have others that would never not psycho pack. Heck , precision aero a canopy company is all about packing this way. These types of conflicts make it so difficult for newbies like myself. You cant even get people to agree upon canopies. Two people could jump the same exact canopy and one could say that it opened off heading and slammed them and the other would say it was like floating on feathers and totally awesome. I'm not sure what my point really was to writing all this. I guess I was just venting a bit. Obviously having a rigger or a very experienced packer guiding me in my packing process will alleviate a lot of my issues. This sport definitely takes patients and you gotta squirm on the ground barely able to crawl before you can walk let alone run. Oh and I am definitely still interested in hearing everyones opinions of the clipper canopy in general. Thanks
  15. Hey all, first time posting. I have recently purchased a used flight concepts clipper (DOM 2002) and I was hoping to get some opinions. I have heard some interesting (not good) things about the clipper most of which I believe was in reference to the older versions of the clipper. Are the more recently manufactured versions a better canopy? Also I am hoping someone out there has tried psycho bagging the clipper. I am trying to squeeze it into a very snug container and the only way I can bag it is to roll it, (could also be the fact that I suck at s-fold bagging). Anyone got any info on either of these issues?
