Cool ! glad it worked kind of well. I wonder if a sleeve like with the old rounds would work for deployment ? -
Never done a Tadem but I think its fair to pay more for upsized folks. Plus I feel sorry for those tandem instructors ...some days they are plain worn out. -
Should be fun, wheres the secret jump location if you can reveal? -
Cool ! I cant wait to see this. Really if I wanted to be slick I could model this in Solidworks and do a mechanical simulation; al you have to do is model 1 bag and repeat. Sounds like a fun engineering problem.
Are you using kevlar fishing string ? assuming multiple branches.High performance kite string is also strong, thats fairly cheap. -
I got mine during student status early, it was helpful to see how I could slow fall rate down. In my opinion its one more tool that can help you stay alive and pull. As a Student I had it (protrack) set very conservatively. -
Double checked the box..1650 is correct must have been drinking some strong beer last night. -
And the new FAA rigging book availible free on-line also has both single and double loop construction. FAA-H-8083. -
I will find other site tommorow but I remember that for the smallest finger trapping tool they used Guitar E string(metal) thats also the easiest string that busts playing guitar so I had a bunch of broke ones always around. The small size is only really good however for microline on linesets I believe. A std fid, metal or plastic works real well for loops. -

Thats one of them, there was a better one that recommended different fids, -
Oh man there was an excellant site I found with the details on this and how to make tools of different sizes,
have the printout at work. I will do a quick search and see if I can find the site.! -
If I remember right the Pelican 1540 ? is about the most popular one for Skydiving stuff. Its pretty big. Can fit about the biggest rig + stuff inside. -
I build Military equipment sets that use Storm Cases, the ARMY prefers Storm while other branches buy Pelican. Latches I feel are nicer on Storm, but OK on both. Pelican used to have a no-hassle return policy...break the box and you get a new one. However they have changed that recently and guess what..they also bought Storm. So Pelican now corners the market, I think they also have new owners. Pelican Boxes are heavy however with your stuff inside it is easy to reach limit. I always used these boxes before on Cave Diving Trips but now I pack tighter ! -

Which dude, the craterer or the pullerer?
Oh it would be the puller no matter what. Its kind of like some of the cases last year where jumper may have had cardiac on way down. Anybody that helps out the guy in distress really deserves a reward. Hey they gave the guy an extra chance. Puller deserves beer at minimum, if that ever happens to old fart me... I buying the guy/girl his choice of fancy rig, no questions !. -
Just for sake of fun argument only.... lets say I pull the main, the dude still craters in and becomes badly damaged, the relatives come back and sue saying shouldave done blah-blah... that ever happened ?
Myself would personally( or relatives) given the dude a big case of beer. -
Man that sounds good, now to think of a way off work !

All you need are hot bikinis and you are describing heaven on earth. I work for a major Scuba Manufacterer in SOCAL, let me know if you need Scuba gear ! I will trade for jump tickets. -
QuoteWould that be Norm Kent??
Sorry yup that was Norman, how did I goof that one.
Its the "Dive In" DVD. I also like that song that says: "bet your gear on a case of beer I'll be jumping till the sun goes down" There otta be a soundtrack CD ! -
I dont know if its the one your looking for but the Greg Kent Skydiving history DVD has a Freak brothers video on it. I dig the groovy soundtrack. All that cool Ill scene and I missed it ! -
I see the tunnel as an excellant skydiving tool, if I had the money I would be in there all the time ! -
rent the hit skydiving movie CUTAWAY, it explains all the highly technical stuff.

I thought Mayor Daly shut down Meigs Field to prevent such deviate activitys by terrorists. Sorry still pissed about that one. Cool video however, was this BASE or proximity ? -
Socal Skydiving is good, cant complain one bit. Cost of living, traffic, suck & economy is lousy now. You basically need a very good degree job in order to maintain good lifestyle. Lived in Texas in my 20s, found the girls waaay friendlier there ! That is of major importance. Ah the good old days. Was surpized how snooty the general CA girl was back then....although I found a good one eventually. -
Triathlon is a good canopy also, I am lighter 230, but I use a T260. It comes in handy on no-wind landing days. -
Getting an ME degree was the smartest thing I ever did, even if the process itself sucked. I was working full-time as an Electronic, Mechanical and Software Technician......the day I recieved my BS in ME I got a new desk at work and my salary doubled ! The process itself is just a bunch of hurdles you pass to prove your worth, just like the military with the exclusive schools were you prove your worth, in College you prove you can handle it by completeing the process.
