We have a DZ in Toledo although its far from Her. Since someone already purchased a GC for her through us can i not just pre pay your DZ to take her? it would be easier and cause the least amount of trouble and hassle for the customer. not to stir up shit but providing customer with service is not stealing, since we refund the ones we cannot provide service to. That customer must not have called us first to schedule like its written on the front of our gift certificate. Plus if it was a gift to the recipient she was not the one who purchased which the purchaser would have been the one told which local facilities she can go to. They do have to call us first to schedule but not all do so i cannot speak for them Which DZ do you jump at? well being from Florida (Tampa Bay)i know all about the tourist business and Disney actually has partnerships with companies for them to sell there tickets so Disney even uses brokers/partners which i am currently looking into, the only issue is the insurance they make you get you would have to make sure your volume of sales makes it viable.. Although if you look online for taking a fishing charter there are plenty of sites that shows boats you can choose from but not all of them are the ones who actually owns the boats they just help sell trips for the actual company who do own them and they get there cut/commission. No our websites are very generic with basic skydiving information i did not say they were blatant lies Although having websites and selling something that doesn't exist is two different things. When they call in we relay the information from our local affiliated drop zone. If you were to call in our agents will not book you at a place that doesn't exist they with ask where you are coming from and then tell you our closest affiliated location.... Our websites are what we use to generate phone calls when they call in we give them accurate information most info coming from the DZ thats in that are. No matter what market/business you are in there will always be the need for a broker/booking agent whether its because the local companies do not advertise well enough for themselves or they do not advertise for there potential out of state customers. which ever the case may be some companies just like to cut cost and have someone do the bookings and the advertisement for them. If your company is not interested thats fine. With Skyride's new business ventures Skydiving is only a very small percent of our profit. and when i say new i mean like 2-3 years old. We sell more gift certificates for various other events so i do not see how just the skydiving community can even make a dent on our ever growing network of vendors. We are a booking agent just like Travelocity, orbits except we do not book airline tickets and yes we do make a small profit but does that make it a rip off? go to BBB and look at any booking agents you will see a huge number of complaints ranging from unable to book to just dissatisfied customers, yet these booking agents advertise locally as if they could be found locally... the only reason we are being scrutinized is because it is a much smaller and tight nit community we are catering to. If you look at the numbers we have a total of 316 complaints in the last 3 years but yet today alone we set up well over 316 customers..... Well on the gift certificate it does state they need to call in so they can schedule with our closest affiliated drop zone and it lists a phone number to call . Although in instances when they show up at a DZ that is not affiliated we have pre paid with a company card for that customer so they still get to jump. There is some merit to what they are saying but it mainly comes from when we first started and basically grew to fast for our shoes which created a back log in reservations, Although now we can handle thousands of reservations a day with no problem.
