  2. may those who have perished be free from their earthly bodies to play in the sky forever. My heart and prayers to those whom they loved adn loved them. a terrible tragedy for our humble community.
  3. well kids, he was shocked by your support and caring words (i printed them out and brought them to him). drew is recovering amazingly well! the rehab specialist watched him when they transferred him from the icu to a patient recovery room, and he was so aggressive in helping to make the transfer with as little assistance as possible that they are going to start him in rehab tomorrow (7/11)!!!! he's doing physical therapy twice a day and will be adding the rehab into his day, so he's on his way! all his surgery is over and humpy dumpty has been put back together again :)! now it's just time to rent movies and heal! he's back to his goofy self again and will be back on dz.com within the month! yipee!!!!
  4. the rig has been taken into safe keeping by his family. i'll see if i can't get a damage report to you. i do know that the EMT's cut one legstrap off at the main lift web of the harness below the cutaway handle. i'll check into that. thanks for all your help, drew really appreciates all the support.
  5. he's got insurace so hopefully the deductable will cover most. he's still in the Intensive Care Unit and will be there for the next two weeks atleast. he's not in good shape i'm sorry to say.
  6. thanks guys!!!! i posted the address where you can send goodies and the like. i'm going to print this page out and read it to him tonight. you guys kick ass. he really needs it to get through this. peace & love yo.
  7. i am able to visit drew on a regular basis and have recieved many emails showing concern and love for our buddy drew. if you would like to send drew cards, gifts or any other random trinket you want to get rid of send it to: drewfus mcdoofus c/o juliane natasha 2440 high alley #1 eugene, or 97405 i am also setting up a sympathy fund for getting him a new javelin since the EMTs went nuts cutting the rig into bitty pieces when getting it off of him. i think they could have cut the leg strap next to the buckle rather than at the main lift web! he also needs a new freeflysuit but i think we got that one covered. so send to your heart's content and i will bring him the items i recieve as i get them. love to you all and thank you for your support. he loved hearing that you all have shown so much care for him! blue ones and soft landings. ~jules
  8. to my fellow skydiving family: i come bearing a concern that i wonder how many of you can corroberate. last year i lost a friend, lisa gallagher, when her icarus crossfire hit turbulance and collapsed during the swoop compitition at the ranch. this past weekend another incident occurred to a regular on this site that many of you may have seen. My dear friend "drewfus mcdoofus" or "airdrew20012001", as his screen name appears here often, was landing in slightly turbulent winds but in all other respects, a normal final approach. without any adjustments of his body the right half of his canopy collapsed and hooked him into the ground. he is alive but in very critical condition. if it weren't for the camera helmet he was wearing for the tandem video he shot, he would be dead. his injuries are too gruesome to describe so be wary if you jump this canopy. I am in no way slandering or intending to hurt the icarus company, i am just hoping that those who do fly this canopy will have safe landings. i realize there was a recall on a bunch for being out of trim. the collapse was perhaps a corrolation, or perhaps not. i am writing to see if anyone out there has experienced or seen any other collapses in the air or near the ground under this or any other canopy, just to make some sense of this. please share your stories and support for Andrew Logerwell at this time. thank you all. blue skies and soft landings
