  1. welcome, travis! i hope your first jump is as amazing as mine was! please let us know how it went!
  2. thanks for the welcome, skymama! i just booked my first (of hopefully many) flight from new hampshire to tampa for december. an early "holiday" gift to myself my only regret is my kids won't be able to watch me jump then. but i plan on bringing them down during their school vacation in february. it's a lot easier when someone else is paying for my jumps. and amazing that somebody loves me that much! it frees up the travel money. (and what's another few hundred dollars on my credit card between friends?)
  3. i made my last jump when it was 50 (farenheit) on the ground and below freezing at altitude. i didn't have any problem during freefall - likely because of all that adreneline pumping through my body! - but descending under canopy were 5 of the longest minutes i've ever experienced! even with gloves, by the time i landed, my fingers hurt so badly i had to promise myself i wouldn't jump again around here until the spring. i do suffer from reynauds, though, so the cold tends to affect me more than most people. i'm jealous of those of you who can jump in the cold!
  4. hi fellow skydivers - i'm new here and wanted to say hi. this is a great space and i have a feeling i'll be spending a lot of time here while i really should be working... i received the most incredible birthday gift in september - the entire aff course paid for! i started at level "a" on my birthday and two months later i'm up to my "e" level (unfortunately i could only jump on weekends so it was a slow process). i notice most of you refer to the levels by number and not by letter but i guess my dz does it a bit differently. passing "e" level puts me on solo status so i can jump with a coach. i guess you could say i've become obsessed with this new passion! unfortunately my dz here in the northeast has just closed for the winter, but i do plan on making some short trips to z-hills over the next few months to continue my training and hopefully get my a license here in the spring. thanks for letting me share!
