  1. I actually have taken things one at a time. The booties were the new things for me that were different. I have had tunnel time to work on my stability and had 6 tandems to work on my canopy. But the booties are really harder then what I thought they would be. I don't know why it was so easy the first time. But, I should be making another jump with an instrustor I am familiar with so we will work on tracking. So we will see how it goes. :P

  2. Yup. It was just that evening that I could not stick around. I have shown up at the DZ just to sit and talk about what I can learn about, what the next jumps were going to be like, what my options were for exit and all. So we have done alot of talking and looking at photos (of the DZ!). I have learned alot on the ground. Oh and the day I dropped off the beer there were three people there and it was a rained out day! :P

  3. jump suit! My first jump on it was two weeks ago! I couldn't have asked for a better jump.....new jumpsuit with booties, and new helmet. I felt good and everything went perfect. So yesterday I decide to head on out there again and do a few more jumps. Maybe I just got lucky a few weeks ago but my jumps were terrible. I jumped with the same instructor but I think I scared the crap out of him. For some reason found myself tracking in circles! Did not dock once and landed too far away but still at the airport. A few bruises but nothing to complain about. So I go back up to try again and was offered to do a three way. Now I am really excited because I have only 17 jumps and this would be a first. SO.....out we go, I'm on my back they are belly down and I have a death grip on one of the instructors! Why didn't I let go sooner? Beats me. So after all is stable, I can't catch a single person and I am the only one with booties! Then I track in circles again. I screw up my landing AGAIN! Geez someone help. I have never had this problem in my 17 jumps and have done two of my Cat I (if that makes sense). These were suppose to be my fun jumps with just a few more things to get signed off. I have the second one on video and will let you guys see it soon. Is it common to screw up so much when the rest of my jumps went really well? [:/]

  4. I think whatever you choose will be best for her. It makes a huge difference that you will not have to put another one through school. Have you thought of cross districting for her schooling? Depending on where you live versus work it may make a big difference.. You can even cross district city to city. Check out different Montessori schools also. Just because they are all Monessori doesn't mean they are the same. Good luck and see you around the DZ! Cassandra

  5. My opinion only.........After looking at schools for my girls, I compared Montessori, Private, and Public, I wanted them to be well rounded and educated. Montessori would have been a great place (I felt private school was a waste of money) but when it came down to it alot depends on the child. If you and your wife are involved, your daughter will thrive well in public school. My 13 year old has had a great experience with school and is an excellent student! My 8 year old does very well also. I am not against Montessori I just think that money could be spent other places or placed in a savings account. Besides, would you be able to afford it if you had another one and needed to send that child to Montessori also? Just a thought.

  6. I told my 8 year old that she should go on that show. (I have never watched it) She was showing everyone at the commissary that she can lick her elbow (the end) and told them she could also lick her armpit! She had everyone in tears!:S

  7. This has got to be one of the greatest pictures I have EVER seen. My 13 year old is extremely jealous! She can not wait to jump. Will have to travel to NC to get her tandem in when she is 16! Happy Father's Day to you all!

  8. Got ours tonight! My older daughter insisted she didn't like them but drank hers anyway and my younger couldn't wait to go and hated it! They were OK, a little melted! But hey, it was a root beer float! Gotta get ya one!:P

  9. I would have to say no on the after market cruise control thing. My husband and I had one installed by the dealer in June of '93 and planned a trip to Lousianna in August of '93. We were only on the road for 20 minutes when the thing got stuck. It wouldn't shut off. You couldn't put the car in nuetral to turn it off. Nothing worked. So after smoking the brakes for a little while we decided to take an exit ramp and for some reason it just shut down. We immediatly turned back to the dealer and had them diconnect it. Now we make sure we buy a vehicle that it is already installed by the manufacturer. This may have been almost 14 years ago but I would still never buy one.

  10. I was under the impression that the only thing that counts toward is the freefall time and not, say, jump numbers toward my A. If I have 6 tandems that does not mean I get to skip the last 6 or first 6 of my AFF training. I still have to do 25 jumps during my AFF training. Am I wrong?
