  1. I'm scheduled to do my AFF Level 3 tomorrow. I've done 2 tandems, and Level 2 on Aug. 12th. My first tandem was on June 11th, and I was, and still terrified. I closed my eyes upon the exit on my first tandem. Took until the following Thurs. to say to myself "I need to jump." Somehow that experience made me realize all the petty shit of life is just that, petty. Let it go, and live! I saw a saying "skydiving has been known to change your life" is true for me. The fear is what keeps me going back. The challenge for me is to conquer my fear, however, not to the point that I get careless. I like a good challenge anyway. I have fear of the door. I'm suppose to exit on my own....Help!!!!
  2. Thank you for your kind reply. I'm new to this type of forum too. I will continue my story tonight because I will be doing AFF 3 on Sunday. I have a great deal of fear exiting the airplane....especially on my own. Even one of my jump masters' was a bit concerned about my nervousness on level 2....
  3. All I know is the first time I decided to do a tandem I had such body stress. My mind was in tact, however, my body responded in the opposite. I drove myself to the dropzone. I pulled off the road (interstate) 6 times because of feeling light headed, and feared causing an accident...THAN I discovered I was lost. I called the DZ, and was guided via cellphone to my destination. The fear went away when I had to find my way, once again. Almost like being in a forest, or a place in one's life where fear takes over... Anyway... FEAR.....to be continued.
