  1. thanks guys, i ended up getting it at the source(radio shack for you people in the states) but they had to ship it in from another store in Onterio, but it's alright only took them 2 days to get it.
  2. One of my friends gave me some equipment to try out, one of the things was a DYTTER and the batteries where dead, and i realized the batteries that fit in it are super hard to find.
  3. Ya and people can still do the trespassing thing, this way your not limiting anyone just opening people to new experiences.
  4. Hey man i have no doubts about that, maybe skydiving will become as big a part of my life too, now i'm gonna go grab a beer with my friends, something that should be part of every lifestyle
  5. Well exactly, thats my point some people don't want to be a "pro" i mean 1 to 5 jumps a week can lead to some decent progression factor in some wind tunnel time, hey you can progress to a pretty comfortable level, no?
  6. No but, i'm saying you can be a safe skydiver if you only perform 1-5 jumps a week, i mean do you only wanna limit the sport of skydiving to people who can perform 10+ jumps a week? like you can be a safe skier or snowboard if you only hit the slopes once a week
  7. Sky venture is coming to Montreal, i got the news from the french forum i just thought I'd post it here, for you fellow english Quebecers http://www.skyventure.com/newsroom/default.aspx?ID=574239da-e8e4-418e-9aa7-ba6b8fa7fd9a
  8. (I'v been playin guitar for 9 years and don't plan on stopping)
  9. Well you guys seem to misunderstand what i mean by hobby, I mean you can be very devoted to a hobby and still not let it control your life,I play guitar anywhere from 7-20 hours a week, i consider it a hobby but i'm not livin the musician lifestyle, just like i plan to be in the sport of skydiving. I was just commenting on how people seem to be cutting all ties with friends and family to skydive, i just think that it's not healthy or appealing to a prospected skydiver (unless he's a loner of course, in that case the dropzone is a great place to meet people:))
  10. It be really hard to regulate probably impossible when you think of the personalities, you can have organized events like bridge day and stuff, charge to jump, if you do it regularly enough at a lot of different locations, you might get some people who are to scared to trespass to join
  11. I really Don't think it should ever get to that extreme i mean skydivin is great but the way you guys talk bout you guys all seem one dimensional, and i think if skydivin is really to get more popular people need to pursue it as a hobby not a life style.
  12. Thanks guys, I'm at about 160 pounds, and started jumping a 170 at Skydive deland, i went from a 200 to that so it was pretty cool and i got a pretty good handle on in considering i did only 12 jumps on it. but ya i forgot about 135 kinda jumped the gun when i wrote 120.
  13. I started at 18 and i did it with my own money which is very rewarding because it's something i had to work like a dog to get, and even now i am officially hooked on the sport, it's gonna be hard to stay in it (school now eats up most of my working time) and i have to make a lot of sacrifices (no more weed unless it's free) but i think my life is better cause of it. adn it really helped me mature as a person.
  14. Hey, i'm new to the sport and i'm looking to buy some gear, i was wondering if it would be wise to get a new container and put in used canopies. I'm asking this because i am at the moment using a 170 and hope to downsize to a 150 by the end of the summer. and i was wondering if later i can downsize to a 120 without changing container.( any suggestion for a container)
