I don't think it's dead, I think it's just what you have experienced. I didn't do it until I moved to Texas either, but now I never go empty handed. Besides, a good bottle of wine doesn't have to cost a lot, but it gives you a reason to drink

Fogo De Chao is my favorite - and I think there is one in the city. Of course, it isn't just one peice of steak, you get to try like 14 different cuts of meat and eat until you explode... ah, now that's good stuff!

I think what is odd is different for everyone. I always used to put celery in my tuna, but then a friend turned me on to putting apples in it - yum! Now I eat it with chunks of cojack in it too and instead of making a sandwich, I slather it on saltines.

Woke up after a very relaxing evening (and a wonderful date :-)
Walked outside to 40* weather (when it was 70* yesterday)
Spent the day at work (in a nicely heated office)
Finalized plans to move into my new apartment (with a month free rent)
Signed paperwork for my car (with a lower interest rate)
Found a flight home for Christmas (under $300)
Planning to leave early (just 'cause)

It isn't sushi, but life is pretty damn good!
