--I like 5.11 as much as the next guy, but if its all you wear, then you look like the tactical equivalent of a tool.

I was just going to mention that. Did they mention using "Staying Alive" by the Bee Gees to help set the compression pace when you went through re-cert?

I don't recall "Stayiing Alive" but it is a very fast number of compressions per min (100 cpm).

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a full-face helmet that can still be taken off easily by emergency first-responders to perform CPR?

I just got my annual re cert last year and there is no more rescue breathing involved, its now called CCR (cardiocerebral resuscitation). I don't know if all first responders are trained on the new protocol but we are here in Florida.

25th Anniversary 25-Way Sky Dive for C.O.P.S. is being planned for January 8-11, 2009, at the Florida Skydiving Center in Lake Whales, FL. Experienced law enforcement skydivers will freefall at 120 mph to bring awareness and help raise funds for C.O.P.S. as they did in 2004 for the 20-Way Sky Dive held for C.O.P.S., during C.O.P.S.’ 20th Anniversary. For more information and how you can donate, contact coordinator Gregg Knott at [email protected] or you can visit the web at www.jumpforcops.com for further information.B|

  6. I used to own a Viper 170 and jumped two different Viper 170's back in the mid 90's. The demo canopy smacked me harder than anything I had ever experienced (was later told the person who packed it last caused it). Subsequent jumps with it were ok.

The one I purchased usually opened ok but once every 10 jumps or so would whack the hell out of me for no apparent reason. The flair on that canopy was fantastic and it was EASY to pack because of the special type of zero-P material it was made out of. That canopy also uses a smaller diameter zero-P pilot chute. Be careful it does not fit too loosely in your BOC. Mine was a little loose in my ROL (what we used back then) and caused premature deployment while back flying that tore my ACL and damaged my hip socket. B|

A lot of times, there are 3 in the door on an Otter and then they all try to cut the corner. Then, the pilot-side diver pushes the tail-side diver into the door frame. I've seen a lot of shoulder injuries from that.

I got a VERY nasy door bite down my ribs and hip two week ago after getting forced into the trail edge of the otter door and I'm still hurtin. Great post.
