  1. Hello all,

it was, I say was, because this happened December 24th 2012....and everything has been fixed since this date. Only paperwork to be updated. For those who don't know EASA has nothing to do anymore with sport parachute since 2006. The French FAA (names DGAC) asked us to remake the final control before delivery as it has been done before....Stupid situation, life is life.

  2. From one European country means only allows in this sole country. The problem in EEC is there is no agreement between each of the EEC countries. This is a mess, if you want to sell in France you must have a QAC-121, if you want to sell in Germany you need the German rigger association approval, same for BPA, etc....
If you need help for the French approval let me know.

  3. At the moment we are in the process of the European certificate obtaining and the procedure is almost completed.

Beware, there is no more European certificate for sport equipements. The only European certificate you can get is from the EASA and only for EMMERGENCY type parachutes. This means your rig will not be granted to be used as sport parachute.

  4. Wee sell in a lot of countries and USA as well, it takes a week or up to 12 days max. The company you bought from should send infos to customs to have the goods to be released. What is the company's name?

  5. Do n ot worry I do not perceived it like this. My intervention is just to explain how it works for those who do not know the rig. Concerning the cutter, as you know everything can happening. This is one one the reason plus the catch possibility of the cutter by a line that we have protected it.

  6. This possible issue was a point we worked on when we started. What we found was, if used normaly with care in any kind of environment this will hapened like any other rigs. If badly treated it is evident that more dust and debris can be found in it. But, till now such bad treatment never started an issue.

  7. Your are right Lee, but the cost of such testings and the material to be used (because we need to go a step ahead) will cost a lot. This should not be a problem for big brands but for small like yours and mine this could be one.

  8. Yes, this happened to us after a prematured opening. Even the stichings between both laterals and the container were damaged. The rig was overloaded and air speed was very high. Since then we have modified the chest strap routing and stiches pattern.

From what I can make out of the drawing in the facebook link, it looks more like it's based on Eric Fradet's concepts where the straightening of the bridle pulls a pin and disconnects the RSL.

    Hi Kelly
based on the L.E.S. Eric's baby before the Interlock.

  12. Hi Jerry

They are 4 rings. I do not remember of the 1st shot, but risers are not from that particular rig (color).

  13. Hi John and All,

AAD hits the market in 92 and all testings were done with rigs from this age. Since rigs design have changed and most of them have never been tested with their new design using AAD's and even not using them, this went to problem all knows some years ago. Most of the actual reserve containers are not adapted to meet the 300 ft requirement of the TSO.
This is my opinion and I agree with John and Kelly, not on all but on most of the points.

I tried to respond to this before but my internet took a shit.

I really don't like eather of these positions. I know it's what you would like to hear but they imply a lack of responcability of the part of the rig manufactorer. There was a lot of descusion about this at PIA. There was even talk about testing programs and standards. But what really struck me was how closely the companies were haveing to work with the AAD makers to resolve these issues. Even small design changes were haveing large effects on the delays. I really don't think a rig manufacterer can just wash it's hands of this and expect an AAD to work. If that is the depth of their involvement then I would not put an AAD of any type in their rig.

I guess they play hot potato even in Europe.

    Lee

It is not a lack of responsability. We try to open the eyes of everybody because this situation cannot still the way it is since years. You must understand that we cannot be found responsible if the AAD is not working properly as it should.
