  1. Welcome, make yourself at home. I know what you mean about the mother, mine can't stand the conversations anymore, I used to be the one finding ways to cut the call short and now I find her doing it. Anyway, cherish every second of freefall, it is a gift that unfortunately everyone wont experience. Blue skies
  2. there are a thousand paths to take. But in my personal experience, it would have been nice to find this simple concept of going up and going down and then repeating at 18 rather than 21. Good luck in what you do Blue skies
  3. Until you buy your own gear, and get off student status your gear will probably be changing on a regular basis, you will be on student gear until you get liscensed and i don't know about your DZ, if they have rental gear or not but you will be downsizing until you reach a certain size that will be suited best for your skill level and probably stay there for awhile, I have changed rigs 5 times since I started jumping so I know the feeling of having something different on your back, but as soon as you learn about your gear and trust all the equipment you are using you will lose those anxieties, it will come with time and experience, just as everything else in this sport, the more you jump the more comfortable you will become, so jump on!!
  4. on changing rigs, I changed rigs constantly throughout my students progression, I did get nervous a few times bouncing around but that anxiety went away after I took the packing class, I then understood both the rigs I was jumping. I encourage you to take the packing class as soon as you can, the better you understand the equipment and how it works the more confident you will be.
  5. I have been off student status for a little over a year but I remember going through my progression and before every jump my instructors would go through the entire skydive with me from exit to landing and always advised to PLF, and while I was on radio, under canopy, "Prepare to PLF" was always a command I could count on around 100-75 feet, this helped bring my feet and knees together
  6. Just wanted to say hi, my name is Jordan, I have been jumping for a little over a year at SKYDIVE SNOHOMISH in washington. I have been on the site before but didn't have the internet at home, just got it and now I have come home, anyway, just wanted to say hello, blue skies
