QuoteI can feel it is more sensitive than other parts of my body
Don't be too sure of that...my g/f had one on the top of her foot; hurt like hell. They take that needle right across the bones that lay at the top of your foot. I've also heard that down the spine can hurt like a bitch.

QuoteGot lost under canopy on AFF1...Really stare at the way the DZ looks on the map BEFORE you jump.
Damn, I thought I was the only one! Did some tandems as part of my start into the sport, out in Boulder near Las Vegas. I was told to jump near where I lived...on my first AFF everything went great. Then it was time to pull. I went up, they went down, I looked at my canopy and lost sight of my instructors. I didn't look at an aerial of the DZ...I landed in an open lot where a local priest pulled up and drove me back to the DZ. Ended up I landed two miles away. When I got back to the DZ my instructor says, "Ah, we wondered what happened to you."
Good times, good times.

Quoteerhhh ... generally i'll pack my main after each jump no ?
That was my thought as well... I'm figuring they mean if it's been sitting in the bag for an extended period of time. Got it!

QuoteSuddenly, it became agitated and was buzzing loudly & angrily flying in my chest area because it couldn't get out. It was very agitated, and I'm allergic to bees!
Are you sure it was aggitation and not excitement? I, do, only have the avatar to go off of so I could be wrong.

Correct me if I'm wrong...Happy Birthday, Orchid! Have a great day, and hopefully you've recovered after your long weekend.

Quote...the only bummer was landing out of the DZ... but that's the advantage on jumping in San Diego... you always have the border patrol to bring you back
Maybe I'd better not go jump in SD...something tells me they'd want to see my papers, and that may still not get them to bring me back over.

Although I haven't experienced that many, I belive they are all pretty close to similar. Boogies are set days that DZs designate special jumps, usually at lower prices, special methods of flight, i.e. hot air balloons, helicopters, etc. They tend to have special load organizers, theme parties, demo gear, contests, and a t-shirt all for a registration fee!
Check one out. They can be a lot of fun.

Hey Ryan,
Here's what I found for you... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2914695#2914695
See if that helps. Have fun, meet new people, have a beer...or two (the DZs usually have too much and need to get rid of them), and be safe.

QuoteIf you're not jumping in san diego, then you are missing something
I will have to agree, on a more general level, however. I've love Perris because that's where I started, that's where I'm comfortable, and I enjoy the people there. However, I recently realized that it's time to test the skies elsewhere so I can become more well rounded. I hope to move out of my comfort zone before the end of the year and make my way to Elsinore, for sure, maybe SD and even Lompoc (to visit some people). I'll give you both a holler when I finally make my way out there.

I think I missed something....

Heh...did you see the wheel barrel that guy has?!

Hey DZ,
Congrats!!! You've takin' your first step into your most rewarding addiction. Have fun and be safe. Btw, if you think you're stiff now, wait until you are getting 8, 9, 10+ jumps in in a day. Keep up with it!

So very sorry for your loss airtwardo. I hope things will get better soon.

QuoteAnd we need a man to make our sign.
Not really, but it sounded good.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hehe... I don't know if we need a man to MAKE the sign, but it'd be nice to have one to CARRY it.
Will it be a small sign?! 6.2 miles may be a long way to carry a sign...who's going to carry me?!

Went to the unConventional Boogie in Perris and had a revisitation of why I love this sport! Started on Wednesday when I had to do a recurrency jump. One solo to fly my canopy that only had 3 jumps on it before I stopped jumping. The rest of the week I was able to get back in the saddle with formation jumps.
I did have 2 1sts: 1st Balloon jump and 1st Porter Jump (DAMN tight ass plane!)
Also got to be a part of someone's 500th jump; that was sweet! All in all, a fantastic week(end) of getting my wings back. Met some really cool people and had a blast!
