  1. I know it is a silly question but as beginner to skydiving it is a thing that bothers me (more) after some girl told me (in a bull riding forum lol!) that it happens often and I should take up bull riding instead! Just from looking at the fatality stuff I'd guess that most accidents happen when skydivers land too fast. Which would be in my book as a user error rather than equipment fault! Cheers, Neil.
  2. I actually did my first RAPS static line solo at BKPC nr. Lancaster UK. Def. a good DZ!. No tarmac runway 'though! As you say the staff are great!
  3. Hi, You people are just getting me turned on to doing another skydive! My first was a static line jump - back in 2005. I didnt have any memory of the 'chute opening at the time. It was funny - I had a one way radio and I was shouting "what should I do - what should I pull". It is quite funny that a bull rider put me off saying bull riding is more safe - after a double malfunction! lol.
  4. I would be a 7 before my first S/L - I was wishing for bad weather but the worst part for me was getting in the aircraft with the prop running. Getting out is not so bad :) I guess not jumping out would be a lot worse!
  5. No worries Mike! I'll let you know how it goes if the weather actually is good for a change! - I am thinking wednesday this week. Good luck with your AFF training! Cheers, p.s. my name is neil Neil.
  6. Hi, The jumpmaster said I was a little 'flat' on exit so I guess that means no positive arch for me either! The helmet and radio on the side really peed me off - I was trying to admire the view on the way down and could hardly turn my head! Weather has been bad here - but looks reasonable this weekend with 8mph winds - so hopefully I'll get a couple more jumps done Thanks for the encouragement people! Cheers, Neil.
  7. Hi, I just did my first static line jump on saturday. No where near as scary as I thought! Can't remember so much from exit to canopy opening! Screwed up the count - don't tell the instructors! - and looked up when it just started to open. Oh well, I will be back next week to do another jump and try and progress on the BPA RAPS course. Neil.
