  1. Hey, Just thought I'd give a heads up. I recently sold a helmet to a girl in Thailand called Jungle. She paid quickly, but doesn't understand English and apparently uses an online translator program to translate everything. As a result she didn't understand what I was referring to when I asked if she wanted the package insured, and thought I had scammed her when the package got tied up in customs (I had provided her with the tracking number and kept in touch with her via email). She did get the helmet (shipped through USPS), but ended up sending me an email calling me dishonest saying I took too long to mail it (USPS sent it back due to giving me the wrong form and everything had to be redone). Anyway, she has included me on her distribution list advising of a 'person who scalds to deceive' who didn't send her the 'height meter' she paid for. She forwarded her email correspondence with the guy, Paul, who gave her a tracking number etc. I can't vouch for the guy, but it seems he didn't try to ignore her and referred her to contact the post office. If she wants to buy anything from you I'd advise against using the US post to mail it and encourage her to use FedEx or equivalent to prevent her sending nasty emails asking where her stuff is (my husband reminded me that the average wage in Thailand is quite low hence her anxiety). Cheers, Lisa
  2. Ramblers in Toogoolawah is a top DZ. Great facilities (shaded packing area, canteen, pool, clean). They have accommodation on-site, though I haven't stayed there (booked out) so I can't comment. Went there for a boogie awhile ago and everyone was friendly and the planes were great. Have fun!
  3. Right now I'm in Castle Hill staying with family until we find a place, probably will settle in North Sydney, but who knows.
  4. HELP! Just moved from Orlando area to Sydney (arrived yesterday) and need a place to jump, freefly friendly preferred. Any suggestions? Any place open during the week that aren't tandem factories? Thanks!
  5. Thanks for the advice. I remember the time when I bought my first rig and dumb me sent cash first and sweated out arrival of the rig, but it came and all was well. Just trying to be fair.
  6. I've thought about it a few times. When I got married I realized I couldn't spend ALL my free time at the DZ, but I've found a balance. I was at a point where I hadn't had a cutaway and was worried how I would react. I did have a cutaway and everything went fine, then I was afraid of having another one, took a few weeks off doing other stuff and then went out again and started having a great time, I'm back in the groove. I think its like a lot of things, your level of interest varies, but there is a point where if you are doubting yourself safety wise you need to acknowledge that while the sport was for you at one time you may be in another time in your life where its not. Jump for the fun of it, not to be cool. Fonzie was cool.
  7. Any ideas on how to let someone look at your gear for sale when they are located in another state and want to check the fit, have a rigger inspect, etc.? When you don't know each other you are either sending your equipment with no payment hoping you get payment or your gear back or sending a payment hoping that the gear comes and maybe the seller will refund if you are not happy?
