  1. I need help finding John Sakal. I was wondering if we are related. We both have the same last name and both Skydive. All I know is that he's from Canada. Any help would be appreciated.

  2. He wanted the canopy to represent the Gay Pride flag
The only problem he says is they built the canopy backwards ie. red on left instead of right. No problem, I told him I own the canopy I'll just have it remade. he plays the dealer against the manufacture and ends up getting a new on for free with a one week delivery date. Hell, I'm a dealer and they don't treat me that good!!!!

June rolls around and he actually has the cash

    He likes the rig

he says he's ok with the color pattern

Done deal. Give him his gear back and keep the cash. Never do business with him again.

And if you have a chance to bang his girlfriend, Go for it.

Unfortunately he's gay or I'd give it a go

  4. Individual orders complete set of gear but can only afford the canopy and wants it delivered first followed by the rest two months later. No problem, talk to the manufacture and agrees on delivery dates. Main canopy is shipped when completed and lo and behold he doesn't have the money for the canopy but will have it after April15th. April 15th rolls around and stills doesn't have the money for the canopy but has no trouble buying a trailer! To clear my account I pay for the canopy and hold on to it. Two months later the rest of his gear arrives and no money but he'll have it the beginning of June. A call to the manufacture and no problem they'll wait. June rolls around and he actually has the cash. He likes the rig but is upset of the color pattern of the main. No problem I told him, I own the main and I'll just have it re-done. I told him to let me know by 10:00 am the following morning and not to jump it. Next day rolls around and he says he's ok with the color pattern. Ten jumps later he now tells me he's not satisfied and wants a brand new canopy. After much back and forth between him, me, and the manufacture I buy his used canopy and they'll make him one free. When I call to tell him this he tells me to come get the rig he wants nothing to do with it!
I figure he just needs the weekend to cool down and went to pick-up my main. He starts screaming at me, throwing his other rig on the floor, and throwing a picture at me while yelling to take the f**king rig, and refund his money and get out! I took the whole rig, afraid he might destroy it!!!I've contacted the manufacture and am waiting to hear back. Any ideas/suggestions

  5. Jump Ohio will be opening the weekend of 27 May. Jump Ohio is located in northeast Ohio at the old Cleveland Sport Parachute club location. For further info contact Bobby @ cleveland dz@ yahoo.com

  6. Welcome to DZ.com. I started jumping when I was a sophmore in high school. Where in Ohio are you from? Tandems are more expensive, if you can afford AFF I suggest that's the way to go if you're still interested after you Tandem. Blue Skies! BTW you're about to join an unique brother/sisterhood. We don't look down on other jumpers ability to afford jumping. Just make sure you have someone explain the beer rule !!!;)

  7. I'm keeping both of mine. After talking to both Nancy and Suzie @ Jump Shack it seems the manufactures are jumping the gun on banning them. Who knows what chain of events happend at San Marcos, the line was cut however. And the so called failure in Poland may have been an out of sequence deployment. The reserve was 3/4 out of the bag with the pilot chute wrapped around the lines. The bottom line...the cutter fired! If anyone has a two pin Argus they'd like to sell pm me with a price.

Attached is a pic of the late 1950's or early 1960's Super 8mm film "Skydiving." My dad gave it to me as a kid, and I watched it over and over. Helped fuel my desire to jump. After I dust off the old unused super 8 projector, I'll see what data or credits it may have. Perhaps someone here will remember it.

I have a copy of that film somewhere in the house. Use to watch it over and over until I wore out the projector!

  9. They make no distinction between combatant/noncombatant. Given the opportunity they will carry out another 9/11 or dirty bomb or whatever means they have. We the people of the United States does not mean We the Muslim terrorists! I spent 20 years of my life upholding the Constitution and continue to do so regardless of the bleeding heart liberals who seek to extend those rights to individuals whos goal is to see the demise of the United States

  10. Let's make sure these fuckers rights aren't abused while they continue to decapitate people on TV or torture women and children. The only people that have rights guaranteed by the Constitution are US citizens. We are at WAR people. A WAR declared against ALL Americans by the Muslim Nation. The excuse that it's only radical muslims is akin to saying it was only the Gestapo/hard line Nazis that perpetuated genocide. Make no mistake about, there will be another 9/11 as long as bleeding heart liberals continue to defend the so called rights of these crimminals. Who was defending the rights to over 3,000 american citizens when these fuckers declared war and flew planes into the Towers/Pentagon and a field in Pennslyvania?

I just bought my first rig down at Deland. I am pretty excited and got to do two jumps on it yesterday. I got a Vector V310 with a Storm 170 and a PD Reserve 126. I know I will probably catch some flack for having such a small reserve on a big main, but I talked extensively with the jumpmaster and rigger down at Deland that said it would be just fine.

This probably isn't the reaction you were counting on but there's a reason for all the negative posts. Canopy manufactures have demos, both main and reserves, you can jump. Trying to land in someones back yard on a canopy that's to small is not the time to learn how it handles. Do yourself a big favor and demo your reserve. Find out how it flies and lands. You'll thank yourself you did!

  12. Each system has its own idiosyncrasies. I jumped a pullout for over 30 years until arthritis forced me to change to a throwout. The handle is easier for me to grip or else I'd still be using a pud. Yes. I've had floating puds but it was no big deal. If its stowed correctly (the one in the picture IS NOT) it'll be easily in reach.

Look around you, see what system the majority of people are using, and ask yourself why. If you decide to go with a 'pull-out' do yourself a favour and buy an AAD...:P

Let's see...pullout=AAD. That's like saying Vector=reserve pilot chute in tow. Oh wait, it does!!:S

  14. I have one reserve ride on my Angelfire reserve, cutaway after broken steering line wound my canopy up like a dish rag. Since it was a subterminal opening it was extremely gentle and on heading with no line twists. It flew great and the flare was outstanding, resulting in the softest landing I've had since I started jumping in 76. I highly recommend it!
