  1. Pa. to Lost Prairie. 3300 miles one way. Awesome country we all live in!
  2. I've jumped in 33 states and in Rio De Janeiro onto Ipanema Beach (outstanding view). Most of the DZ's I hit were great, some were not so great. But they all offer different scenery from the sky. But the best DZ on the ground would have to be the place I started. United Parachute Club in Pa.(no longer there unfortunately). The nicest people and the most KICK ASS PARTIES I've ever seen.
  3. "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most" Some day when you're old and gray, it might be nice to go back and reminisce. I log every skydive.
  4. Congratulations...post a pic of your helmet, I would love to see it. Taking the drill to mine tomorrow.
  5. PC109...Mine is on the right side also. I wanted to plug it in and run the wire out the hole in the back of the box, having everything taped on the outside of the helmet. But that is not going to work. So will you be drilling two holes? One for the plug and one for the switch?
  6. Sorry, I have no answers...but I do have questions. I just got my RAWA yesterday (great helmet) and the problem I'm having is, the camera fits in the box so snug that there is no room for the "cam eye plug." Do I drill a hole through the side of the helmet into the box and plug it in that way? Nothing like spending $300 on something and then taking a drill to it.
  7. QuoteYou know what your real problem is...Pinnacle Studio 9 sucks! Quote If you would had said that to me last week, I would have agreed with you. But after playing with it a few nights, its pretty easy and a lot of fun. OK, I know some other people are following this thread and trying to learn some stuff with me so heres another ? for you guys who know what the hell your talking about. First I should say "Thanks PhreeZone, Got my fire wire and it works like a champ." First question- what is the difference (if any) between an MPEG and a MJPEG? Second Q, whats the difference between VCD and S-VCD? Third Q. If I'm going to burn my videos to VCD, I assume I should capture the video in the "Preview" format (less space on hard drive), but how should I copy it to disk? (low, med, hi) Remember, there are no stupid questions...just stupid people
  8. Looks like thats it guys...I need firewire (sony calls it an I-Link) and a board for my PC. I'm sure after thats installed, you'll be hearing from me again because I'm clueless. -Doug
  9. No, USB streaming. QuoteFootage on your computer will -always- look "different" than on a regular TV monitor.Quote I burned it on a disk...looks the same (strobe) The camera came with software (picture package). With this you can burn a video to a VCD. Works fine. So its got to be something with the "Pinnacle Studio Settings" that I'm doing wrong. I'll just keep clicking away til I figure it out. Thanks again-Doug
  10. Well lets see...I got my camera(sony pc-109), picked up some video editing software (Pinnacle Studio-version 9), down loaded some vid to my computer. so far, so good. Now I'm trying to edit my video and Im running into problems. When I click and drag a clip onto the board, a pop-up says "adding a non-standard frame rate (30.00fps)." The finished movie looks like it has a strobe affect. I'm new at all this "tech" stuff, and I'm sure its something simple, but I cant get it right. Hopefully someone out there can walk me through this before I toss everything out the window. Thanks-Doug
  11. I didn't feel like I was spending enough money at this sport so I went out and bought a camera (Sony PC-109). I have my RAWA helmet on order and all I need now is a wide angle lens. I'm sure this topic has been discussed to death but I am new to this forum. I have almost 1000 skydives and can fly pretty well. I plan to video small-ways, big-ways and everything in between. I'm looking for an all-around lens to start me off. I'm not to hip with the camera lingo yet so please explain it to me like I was a three year old. Thanks
