Rumours eh!!! well, it may just have been true about Airkix, there may have been some motors running and some people may just have, sort of, flown a bit..... but of course that would just be rumour.

Rob and I are very happy about those latest rumors!;)

  2. Hi Dave,

The exact date is hard to say,.. we think March. I will keep posting as the project moves along. The winter weather will play the biggest role in our build time.
I wish I could give you an exact time,.. but I can't at this point. I can tell you that they have poured the first 90 feet of our foundation wall today. They will be pouring again on Friday.

Thanks for asking and we would love to have you come fly in our tunnel.:)

I see that word 'we' in here a lot :D. I'm assuming your in the ownership or management of the project?

No,.. I am not an owner just a tunnel groupie!
Ahh,.. just kidding! The "we" is Rob and myself and WE are the owners. WE are both skydivers and WE are really looking forward to playing in the tunnel ourselves.;)
WE do like talking about our dream project and are happy to answer any questions that people may have.
Thanks and WE hope to see you at our tunnel!

Is it not cold into N.H.?
Wouldnt that mean that the tunnel would not run in winter months?

    just wondering,

    Dave.

Yes,.. it does get cold in NH,.. but we are a recirculating tunnel and will RUN YEAR ROUND!B| We have 2 very large return air towers that have doors on them allowing us to exchange air and cool it if needed. We will be able to control our temperature at all times.

  5. Hi All,

Just an update on Skyventure NH that is soon to be located in Nashua, N.H. just off of DW Highway.
We have broken ground and we are now digging our BIG hole. The foundation work will be starting this Monday (9/26). It is really amazing to see the site now. It has come a long way since we burned down the house! We will post some pictures soon.
    Thanks and Blue Skies!

  6. Yes,.. we did break ground last week,.. all of the tree's are GONE and the dirt is moving around.
We had our official ground breaking with the Mayor, town officials, bankers and skydivers yesterday ( 9/12). Lime green Reese even showed up in his camera suit! The Mayor thought that his hair was,... interesting. It seems to be going well and we can't wait to get it done and flip the switch.

  7. The cooling is done by the louvers on the return air towers. No AC and no heat added. The movement of the airflow and the heat off of the motors will heat the air. The louvers are closed to keep the heat in and opened to cool the tunnel off.
If you want to see one that is partially built go to www.airkix.com and check out "pix & flix"
Colorado and New Hampshire will be the first of this type in the US but UK is going first.
By the way,... I don't know how long a fart will smell in the tunnel but we are moving a million cfm.

  8. I would like to get out to see it myself,.. but I think UK will be our first visit due to the type of tunnel. I hear that AZ it is big and fast. We will be fast also since we are going with the 1200 hp motors.
I know why AZ was delayed and I don't see us having any delay issues. Our only delay would be if old man winter hit us early.
Our pushing dirt date has changed to September 6th and our official break ground date should be September 12th.

  9. The latest news is that we are expected to break ground this week,.. August 31st. Our site will be cleaned up and prepped for the foundation to be poured. We will be having our ground breaking party when we start digging the BIG hole for the foundation. Due to that fact that we have been really busy on this project our website has lagged behind. I hope to have that up and running in a few weeks.
We don't have an exact date of opening,.. but expect it will be around Jan. / Feb. 2006.
If you have any direct questions you can always email us at [email protected]
Thanks for asking and Blue Skies!

  10. We are gearing up to break ground! Our site work should begin in August. We do not have a date yet when we will be open,.. but we are in hopes of this Jan./Feb. Due to other things in the project we are running behind on our web site but should have that up and running by mid to end of August.
Thanks for asking and Blue Skies!

  11. We have not set our prices yet,... It will all depend on our energy cost. I think that we may end up a little more than Orlando but less than Perris. It is still hard to tell at this moment. I heard that PSNH is talking about an energy cost increase.
Thanks for asking and Blue Skies!

  12. We are planning on opening by the end of December providing our design team stays on schedule.
We will be a 12 foot , 1200 hp, recirculating tunnel.
We went with the 1200 hp vs. 1000 hp. to service the freeflier market. Speed is LIFE!
We welcome the Pink Mafia and other such groups.
Our web site is coming soon and we will then post the latest and greatest.

  13. I can tell you that they do not always look for skydivers. We are opening a Skyventure in NH and the people that we picked just needed to be fit and have a good attitude. We looked for team players that can play well with others! Orlando prefers to not hire skydivers. You can send your name to Skyventure corporate and ask them to forward your email to the skyventure that you are interested in.
You can also go to www.skyventure.com and see the upcoming locations.
    Colorado is starting construction next.
    Good Luck.
