  1. Hey Stu, Cant say 100% yet, but it loolks like there will be two of us coming down from Richland. I would say 3 but one of our regulars is also a Portland jumper, so he kind of don't count for us. Will look around for judges up here. I assume we just need a couple of people with video cameras in key positions, ie. the gates and along the course to prove the distance/accuracy? whips n' chains n' hand-grenades with a little ugly on the side.
  2. Sounds like a good time! How are you dividing the classes, what makes one person advanced and the other intermediate? Is Casey Deck still jumping down there? whips n' chains n' hand-grenades with a little ugly on the side.
  3. Put me on the mailing list, I am interested. We do have a swoop course at Richland Skysports, if we need a venue (yeah it is not a pond, but at least we have it!). whips n' chains n' hand-grenades with a little ugly on the side.
  4. The Sound track is one of my all time favorite bands from since I was a wee child. The almighty Butthole Surfers, Friend in Weed. whips n' chains n' hand-grenades with a little ugly on the side.
  5. For those that are interested the video is up on a proper connection so the download time is highly improved! Http://home1.gte.net/skysport Select -RSS Videos- Right mouse click on "Cliff Swooping" Dan whips n' chains n' hand-grenades with a little ugly on the side.
  6. The place is incredible and the people are friendly and very helpful. There is plenty of highly qualified world class staff speaking a plethora languages and Swiss dialects. You do need a B license to jump there, but that is the Swiss Skydiving Associations fault and Parcentro can not be blamed for what those kids come up with, but they do have to enforce it. Although isn't that the same requirement for Rantoul? The view is breathtaking and it is one of my all around favorite Drop Zones to visit.
  7. Paul. I do agree with you and find the trend to exploit camera flyers, or skydiving professionals in general, to be an issue. I like your idea of starting a thread, it could be very educatoinal and hopefully would start the reversal of the status quo. Might even plant the seeds for a skydiver's union. My point was that compensation was offered, and although it was not cash, it could pay off a higher value in the long run and should not be instantly discounted as bad offer. -Dan whips n' chains n' hand-grenades with a little ugly on the side.
  8. I have never heard of "future cam" till now, I bet some positive advertising would help your business out. It appears from the first offer that Clint is only prepared to advertise the contributor. Compensation comes in many forms besides cash. I realize there are many out there that do not remember those who help them, but an opportunity to publish one's work with minimal effort might pay off in the long run. The again, announcing your prioirities as you have may also produce the image you are looking for. whips n' chains n' hand-grenades with a little ugly on the side.
  9. Hi Ian, It is actually my website and sitting on a DSL connection at the moment. So the upstream is not the greatest. Also since Clint advertised the video, my bandwidth just got sucked up. I am working on making the site more efficient and fixing the scrolling issues. I whipped it together with Frontpage, so you can imagine the limitations. I do appreciate the feed back since I do not get the chance to view my work from the outside my home network. Dan whips n' chains n' hand-grenades with a little ugly on the side.
  10. the sampling of Clint doing downwinders is on ftp.skydivingmovies.com. It is called Clint and the mighty winds. There is another video worth checking out called moabian cliff swoopers. Enjoy! Dan whips n' chains n' hand-grenades with a little ugly on the side.
  11. I bought a Paratec reserve once, the Speed 150. My rigger in the US refused to pack it since it was BUILT out of trim. Most riggers I have talked to always inspect anything from Paratec twice since there is usually something not right about it. I hope this has changed, since I do find Stefan to be a very nice guy, but it will be a while before I buy Paratec again. PD has a great reputation for very high quality, not to mention the amount of testing they can and do put into a product. I have heard only good things about the S2. The Faqtor is advertised as a transition canopy to "The Swoop Pit" (what ever the hell that is) I am assuming they mean cross braced. If your skills are there, why not buy a Stilleto, or if you want the latest and greatest, try the Katana. Just based on the manufacturer I would go the S2 route. Blue Skies und viel Spass mit dein neuem Schirm! Tweek whips n' chains n' hand-grenades with a little ugly on the side.
  12. I have seen him stand up some very impressive downwinders (20mph+) I have some video somewhere, but the only one I can find is one he did not stand up. But the winds were doing about 22mph that day. If you tell me how or where to upload a nice size file, I will. Dan
  13. WOW, I just came back from SKYDIVE MOAB, and in all of my experiences throughout the world (including the Swiss Alps) I have NEVER, EVER been to a more intensely beautiful place!! We jumped into the most amazing canyon!! SWOOPING the CLIFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is not a single place in America or even the WORLD that could even compare to this place! Mineral Bottom in Moab, Utah (famous for base jumping) is where we did the bulk of our jumps, with 1000ft cliffs surrounding us. Flying along the side of one of these massive chunks of red rock is by far the most intense experience I have come across in my 6 years of jumping. Kudos to the staff of SKYDIVE MOAB for professionalism and helpful attitude! The Owners, Clint MacBeth and Shelley White, are two of the friendliest DZOs I have met. You need to meet this married couple. The Grand Opening was this weekend and as many believe that a pilgramage to Eloy is required once in your skydiving life, a pilgramage to Moab is well worth it and should be on the top of your skydiving wish list! I am still estatic about how awe inspiring this place is. I mean you have the cliffs surrounding you, the green river is spectacular, the landing area is like 10 football fields surrounded by 400 ft sheer cliffs with 600 ft of talice. I liked it so much that I have to tell the world about it!! Check them out on www.skydivemoab.com and do plan a trip there!!! CHECK THIS OUT
