  1. Sounds like a great idea - convince my husband. He does let me moto-cross - now that is a rush too. Hard the old body - going in for shoulder surgery tomorrow to put me back togeather - I'll be back at it in a couple months. Should give it a try sometime - Ride Red!!
  2. Thanks for the reply - I did find a jumper that I used to jump with - Mike Michigan, so neat to find someone from the past and catch up with. I do not think I will jump right now, found a new sport - moto-cross - was racing when I was 40 - 6 years ago and was 3rd in the state - a rush. I still ride but just for the fun of it. It is a very physical sport and does take its toll - go in tuesday for shoulder surgery to repair some torn cartlidge - the doc said I will ride again by May. Neat to hear you are back at it, and yes, the sport sure has changed. Never say never - I may jump again but right now my weekends are for riding. Thanks - and blue skies.....
  3. I do not jump anymore, took on other sports, now into motocross racing, third in state, not too bad for 46. Go in next week for shoulder surgery so out for a couple months. Oh well.
  4. I'm sorry that name does not ring a bell, the people I remember are Ted Mayfield, Mike Michigan, Diver dan, Montana Dan, Jack DeChristopher, Elevator(no long alive) and Jock, also a pilot. There are others but age has kinda taken it's tole on me. I was on a eight person team with these guys, hell of a ride.[email]
  5. I knew a steve when I was in Sheridan in the late 70's and early 80' - curly hair - a gun-ho beginner who was advancing rather quickly - would that be you? Melinda[email]
  6. Quote I jumped at Ted's DZ for 4 yrs starting in 1976 - New Ted well - Duck tape held the planes togeather as well as the gear. Even nosed in on take off in one of the Cessna's, walked back, boarded another plane and jumped. The other plane was washed off, started and back up, crazy? Yes-but those were the days back then - in the four years only lost one person there - Wally Tappy, from Montana - a home boy - first parachute streamered - he cut away and the riser on the reserve separated. Got drunk that night, as normally, we burned a out-house down, cops came. Next day Ted sent me and another girl to cry to the cops and they let us off. My name back then was Melinda Wolfe DeChristopher - I was married to Jack DeChristopher. Anyone know of his wear-abouts? I owe him some amends.
  7. Hey - I am from Missoula, jumped there in the late 70's in the summer. My name was Melinda Wolfe - my dad is still there, the orthodontist - Deloit Wolfe. Missoula was fun but not as crazy as my home DZ - Sheridan, OR, Ted Mayfield, Elevator, - now all gone.Quote
  8. Hey - first time in. I no longer jump, did that back in the 70's at the Sheriden DZ - finished with about 500 jumps. Elevator was our pilot - loved him dearly and sorry to hear he is gone. Jump with alot of characters there-pretty crazy in the old days. Jump with the french man and so sorry he has left us too. Does any one have any clue on the where abouts of Jack DeChristopher? I was married to him in my jumping days - just wanted to say hi and owe a few amends. Now in Colorado - no jumping but into moto-cross racing and off road dune buggies - still have it in my 40's - if anyone reads this and remembers me or the those days let me know. Ted called me mollasses because I was so slow to suit up. Thanks - Melinda Wolfe DeChristopher Peters
