  1. i need to make them smaller to upload to http://www.skydivingmovies.com but i hate the films you see uploaded that are unwatchable... under 100 mb would be great. but i refuse to upload it if it's crap quality, theres no point in spending 2 days chopping footage, adding music etc when you can't even watch it properly. i've got dvd res copies for myself. i just want to share it....

  2. hia guys, hope you are all well,

    i'm having a right mess on trying to compress my raw avi outputs from premier to anything remotley sensible in size and watchability.

    the mpg version is 699mb ... and it looks ok but the sound is a bit :(

    i need a good balance of watchability (decent quality and sound) alongside a sensible size (under 100mb)

    it's a 20min short film of my trip to spain, the other videos i've done are only around 5 mins long... but this one is 22 i think and the file size is crippling

    one of you must hold a magic lamp that you can let me rub to pop out the genie of help !

    Not posted for a while but just to let you know i will be at the lillo swoopjam from start to finish and if anyone would like some photos of themselves in action i will be available.

    Images will be available on CD (same day full resolution to get them printed yourselves, works out cheaper for you)

    Thankyou for everyone who put in some constructive input. it's interesting to read some of the interesting theories behind it all (hanging up on the reserve tray etc)

    next time i'll just pm the people who's advice i want.

    it's cut for a 150 reserve, and a 135 main, it has a 150 smart in it and a 150 sabre 2 ..

    not that it matters i've solved the problem, i was mearly asking if anyone else had come across the problem ..

  6. right. lets round this up


    the reason i had a go was it was made out that i "dicked around" with a component of the system.

    i had a problem

    i talked to my reserve packer, regular packers and other packers.

    we sat and analysed the problem and came up with a "lets see if this helps" solution.

    the solution was to loosen off the closing loop slightly.
    we also decided that it would be better to pack the D bag grommet up.

    both of these things in combination have resulted in the systems performance sub terminal better.

    So there it is, spelled out for people to understand what i have been trying to say, for the people who don't question the wording and if they don't understand what is trying to be said questioning the person who said it. but rather dive in thinking they know exactly what was trying to be said.

    A little ironic don't you think?

    to the gent who said i shouldn't be dicking around with the closing loop. i'm not a kid who has just bought a new rig, then played with it, please don't patronise me.

    i always hop and pop from the C182 even with my other rig it didn't take that long to deploy the canopy

    when you dump off the step at 3k and the canopy isn't inflated till 1200ft that is worrying

    the snivel had quite a bit to do with it...
    but the hessitation of 1thousand all the way to 5thousand didn't help matters..

    thanks for the feedback guys. i'm going to get the PC size when i get back from work tonight for you

    it's the ZP one that i got with the container
    the bag is being rotated i'll try gromet to pin next time

  8. hi guys, i've just gotten my new wings contain (cut for a 135) and have put my 150 sabre2 in it it's a tight fit...

    on a hop and pop from 5k the other day i dumped out the door (cessna 182) and my P/C was in tow for about 5 seconds, as i was about to initiate my e/p's the bag popped out and then the canopy snivelled for what seamed to be days...

    the issue i have is, i'm wondering

    alot of people have said that wings are "rubbish sub terminal"

    does anyone have any feedback for me on why this statement is true?

    i have lenthened the closing loop by and inch to stop it from being so tight.

    she is very hard to close, is this because it's new and needs to break in?

  9. 4 on sunday, hung over, and de-hydrated and tired .. packing for myself with hired kit and had a 2 hour drive home then work the night time and the following day (today) at 8.30 am !! it's all good at hibaldstow (15k) every lift
