  1. I've tried both dude. The SO thing worked well for a long time, we had our "Together time" and then on every second weekend we'd either be apard or she'd be hanging out with my second family at the DZ. Then the world went to shit. It wasn't a skydiving thing, we just broke up, but life seems to be alot easier now! More time to concentrate on whe I want to do. Relationships come and go....but family is family forever. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
  2. Hard pulls suck! There good to help keep you on your toes..but thats bout it! I only have 12 jumps, but on my 8th, I had a hard pull, took me 3 times to get it!! I'm not sure what really happened, 2 pulls, and nothing. I was at about 2500 bu then, so I (being the new jumper that I was) wasn't going to sit there and try to fix it. I brought my right hand up to go for the handles, and BAM... I apparently forgot to let go of the hackey, and the adrenalin must have kicked in...cause there was my PC in my hand. I tossed and all went well....but still got the ole heart pumpin for a few! Cheers and blue skys! Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
  3. Hmm. I like the drinking idea. But the Moveing to Florida idea also has some merrit. I figure if I leave in the next 3 days, the ice will still be off the roads around here, so the bike should be ok. And what the hell... it only gets warmer on the way! Perhaps a few-week road trip is in order. Cheers and blue skys! Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
  4. Sweet merciful god. It's been almost 2 months since I've jumped. My DZ doesn't open till March I think.. I'm giong to go INSANE.... I'm all dead inside. no reason to wake up! So, Any suggestions to kill time while I wait? What does everyone else do in the "Off season"...Other than count the days.. 5. I meant D bag. Still working on the terminology. THanks for all the tips guys. I have a ton of things to think about and pay attention to on my next few jumps this weekend. Much appreciated. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
  6. Yeah sorry it's late. Yes its a 280. An freeflying and crew are the 2 things that interest me right now. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
  7. Ahhh it's the dam chest strap.. I'm one of those freaks that like the chest strap cinched up tight. Thats probably what it is because I do it every time. And for those who asked, I'm taking 'standard progression' Thats what was explainid to me. My first few jumps were IAD's, the a few practice pulls. Now I'm doing delays and pulling my own. I almost always jump a different rig. but I've been jumping a javelin container with a Manta 180 or 200 for the last few. I never had video either.. Thats a good idea too. Thanks for all the ideas!. 8. I'm sure there's a perfectly simple reason for this happening, but I sure cant figure it out. Here's whats happening. I'm a new jumper (10 Jumps), I jump stdent rigs at my home DZ. The problem is that out of those 10 jumps, I've only had 1 jump that I didn't have line twists. I get anywhere from 2 to 7 twists almost every time I jump. When I pull I know I'm stable, belly down and a good arch. I stay on heading during deployment, then when I look up....I get my standard twisted ball of crap. There was 1 SLOW opening that I had, so I watched the freebag spin about 6-7 times before and during opening. I know twists are common...but are they that common.. or is it somthing I'm doing?? It's rarely the same person that packs my rig, and I've started packing it under supervision now. so I dont think it's the pack job. Any advice would be appreciated.
