  1. Ive had 2 cutaways in 42 jumps. I succeded in getting the first one in my first jump. After analizing the situation I think I overreacted to having a couple of endcells which werent inflated. I actually tried to pump a couple of times as I was tought, but as nothing happened I pulled the reserve. The second cutaway came at jump 33 and was a lineover with a spinning canopy. I reacted promptly and actually felt pretty much at ease with the situation. Both were with studentgear, navigator and manta. Thanks to this I at least now know that im capable of saving my own neck in a situation like this. I still do feel nervous going in to the plain and gaining altitude. This usually goes away with the freefall though.
  2. I made my first jump a little over a year ago at 37. Im not sure if Id call it a midlifecrisis but its true that as the years go by and you have these little dreams that you havent gotten around to realize you get to a point where you just cant postphone it any longer. The life is here and now. Now Ive got the A-license and will start to look for gear
  3. Hi. Ive just finnished my course and now have an A-certificate. Id like some input on what to consider when looking for equipment. Off course safety comes first but Im also wondering what canopys etc. are more fun etc within that safety margin for a beginner..... ?
  4. Hi. Ive finnished my course just a few months ago. Now I have 42 jumps and I recognize your problem. Everything went fine until the first 3 s delay when I had to pull it myself for the first time. Then I did like you, I dearched and turned in the air. This repeated itself for a few times and I then had to move back to static line. My way of getting through this was through focusing on my problem only (sort of) When exiting I didnt want an excess of mindbargage of fears and stuff that up to the point had worked fine. So basically I reduced my attention to the problem area with focus and mentalisation.... for me it worked. And as a word of reconsiliation. After that I went through it all without problems. So its very possible to have just one problem area after which everything falls into place. Good luck
