  1. Most gyms these days have a trainer available (for free) to discuss what you need to do on a workout. Abs and obliques are two things you can do daily, these will help your back as well, as having tighter abs puts less stress on the spine. The main thing is to alternate days as to what you work, such as chest and arms, then the next day legs. This will reduce your risk of injury. I can give you the name of a couple of really simply explained books that are good guides for the newbie..
  2. My last malfunction was on a brand new canopy with the European version of the slink. My rigger had put them on. On opening, soft, I looked over and watched my riser fall on my shoulder. My best friend (rigger) with 5000+ jumps had lines caught on the ring of the slink resulting in a cutaway. After both incidents the entire DZ had their slinks tacked down. No one even thought about utilizing the tape. Personally I wouldn't want tape on my rig anywhere.
  3. 10 malfunctions 1360 jumps.... First malfunction, jedi 190, 250+ jumps... First 8 malfunctions were on this rig.... I'm just not an elliptical canopy person... Last two, one a bag lock on a Spectre 170, a "slink" on a Cobalt 120 came undone on the first jump.. Another jumper had problems with same issue.. Tacked down the slinks... The first malfunction I packed on the Jedi.. One of our packers, videographer who jumps Jedi packed the rest of the Jedi packs.... Packers also packed the last two..Not sure about the bag lock but the last one was not packers fault...
