  1. Looking for some info about Hartwood Skydiving center in Va.? Are they open on Fridays? The website says weekends. but I understand it's under new ownership. Is there a way to comtact them. TThe number on the site wouldn't go through. Thanks
  2. Have you thought about Skydive the Point? Its in West Point,VA. I live in southern MD (Waldorf) and its a 2 hr drive for me. They have showers and you can sleep in the club house (sleeping bag) or pitch a tent.
  3. Thanks to all. I think the biggest thing is that it wasn't dicsussed before hand. I just did it. Second is the money, "it could be used for their education". My son is 11, he thinks it pretty neat. My daughter is 15, could care less. Go figure!
  4. I just started jumping last year and my wife thinks that this is irresponsible since we have 2 children. With that said, how many skydivers out there with children and do your spouses agree with you skydiving?
  5. Hi there, This is my first post also and like you have been just reading. I just got my A license last week. I have 26 jumps so far. I'm 42. Its taken me almost 1 year to get my license. Between making time for the family and crappy weather, it took a little while. OK, with that said, I am NO expert by any means, but I found getting to the DZ as frequent as possible and making at least a couple jumps that day helped build my confidence. Once I was on the plane I felt more comfortable and a little more at ease. My instructors were great and helped with this by joking and being very supportive. Good luck and stick with it. It will get easier and be well worth it! Mike
