  1. Hey Folks,
I am thinking about a ring site for my setup. What are the options? Also, do you need to set the site up on your dominant eye? I am left eye dominant with a PC110 side mounted on the left with a Optik and dbox.

  2. In what respect do you like it more?
I have request in for an 84 sq ft. 27 cell now. Since I have jumped cross braced canopies, I haven't found anything with comparable lift with conventional construction.

  3. I have a 98 sq ft. Xaos I load at about 2.15 that I just love. It has great openings, more consistent than even my cobalt 120. The front and rear riser pressure is light. I can hang on the rears to get back from a long spot and I always steer with the fronts. It surfs nice and I can shut it down in any condition. My only reservation with the canopy is I wish I bought a smaller one...

  4. I found a nice pile of dirt just off the main landing area after a 360 front riser carve at Eloy about 6 weeks ago... Surfed about 50 ft. and did a front gainer off it with camera. Thank God the camera was okay! My buddy said it looked like I exploded it kicked up so much dust!!! Of course, I have an all black jumpsuit that was lookin' pretty desert-camo at that point.

  5. When things suck, I just remember it is temporary. This simple understanding has gotten me through a lot. The antidote is wonder, take a look around you...

  6. MIne was set at 2000, 3200, and 3500-5000 (dive type) before it took a dump on me... I have no rsl and wear camera under a Xaos 98 so I wanna fall flat and happy after a cutaway, so I raised my hard deck to 2000.

  7. Reinforcing tape running from the rear riser to front on each side at the attachment points. CReW dogs use them to hook their feet in after a dock to keep from pulling the slider up. I have used pull up cords for this with a simple square not or you could have a rigger bartack a couple loops on each end for you and thread them through your soft links. Make sure they are long enough to allow the rear risers to expand to the fronts the full length of the slider. It may affect canopy performance otherwise...

  8. I guess the grief thing is inexplicable to begin with. Personally, it is difficult for me to be satisfied with what I post regarding the loss of someone. I certainly feel sorrow for that person and their loved ones and so I post, but it is hard to settle on words that don't seem to belittle the event in someway... The last thing you want to do is sound crass or desensitized by it, because it doesn't acknowledge a genuine response to the loss...

  9. Just a thought, but I have been reading alot of fatalities in the past couple weeks, one I knew most I didn't. Nonetheless, I am feeling a little apprehensive about seeing coy signatures and some of the typical sport cliches' in the postings. I guess there should be a little more reverence for those who have passed and their families from my perspective. Any thoughts on what is good etiquette when we have lost someone?
For the record, if I make the pages of Parachutist from an accident, the first person to post blue skies gets haunted.

  11. It is all fun and games until the military in any country is given too much power. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, no exceptions...
It is reasonable to expect cancer in some form for yourself or a family member if this happens...

  12. Is your main canopy the one the Wings main tray was designed for, or have you downsized? My Wings has the pud handle, which stows very tightly under the right side flap - I have to jam it in with a few fingers providing some leverage. (my container was built specifically for my current main canopy) No problem sitflying with this setup.

  13. What setting does everyone use for night jumps? Night shot or super night shot? Also, I take it the wide angle has to come off for the infragreen light?

  14. I just carried on my rig with a Cypres out of Denver International on a flight Monday. No problems, but the guy at the xray machine wanted me to put my keys in it with my cel phone while they scanned it (he thought it was a back pack). Needless to say, I didn't enlighten him and just set my phone on the backpad while it went through. I typically carry my rig on and only talk about what it is if questioned, which never happens...

  15. A picture is worth a thousand words... Nothing really communicates the sense of jeopardy like video... You explain something and someone nods their head, you show video and they say oh shit and really think about it!!!

  16. I went on a date once with this Korean chic. We got along great but that language barrier was a mofo. Luckily, she was quite sure what she wanted out of the evening and was quite able to express it in other ways....
