  1. One of my friends is very short sighted anyway (jumps prescription goggles) and says that one eye even with the prescription is extreamly blurred, near useless.

He has no trouble at all. (well, he has only landed in a graveyard once, and broke his arm hitting a boyancy aid on a beach while taking a downwinder :S) But other than that hes fine.

  2. You have a friend with a plane. He takes you on a lift. You jump out over your own land that is big (some farm or something) and land there.

In the UK (and anywhere else) is this actually Illegal or does it just break BPA (or USPA) regs. If you did get caught, what would happen. If the pilot isnt making any money out of it and just having fun why does it matter?

  3. Who does have money. But Its accepts as I am a uni student.

What I really dont understand are my wuffo friends who complain about having no money, but their parents pay both rent and fees.

Granted my parents pay my uni fees but I pay all my rent (about £2400 a year!!!!!!. Now that could be better spent) and I still managed about 100 jumps this year.

But I am now in over £8000 of debt, with 2 years of uni left and less "free money" will become available to me (mr tax man overpaid me a tax refund by about £650 :)
Ill just have to pack more and get more first timers through. More first timers = more subsidised jumping for club members. Yay.

  4. If he were to jump with engines I think it would be fucking dangerous.

Aside from the possible dangers heat of the engines (how hot do these size engines get?) if he got into a stall and built up a lot of speed, wouldnt it be extreamly hard to pull out of with those engines fired up?

  5. Being at uni now I have found I have 2 groups of friends. But I do spend alot of my time with the skydivers (obviously) but I live with 3 wuffos that I get on with well. But Skydiving socials always take preference over wuffo outings.

As to old wuffo friends, as Im at uni I dont see them till holidays anyway, and now its got to the stage where some of them are working away from home or they have girlfriends that live some distance away, so they're the ones that arnt around!

  6. Being a brit of low jumps and cash, the WFFC is fairy innacessible to me. But I was just wondering generally how big it is, how long its been going for and stuff like that.

One thing I was told about it (also from someone whos never been) is that there is just a line of manifesting tents for a whole variety of aircraft and you just manifest on what you want to jump. Are pretty much every type of jumship avaiable there?

Also, I assume its mostly americans there but is there a fair representation of other nationalities?

  7. Also, as there was total cloud cover, how could he see where he was going. Yes he could have looked at the GPS in the plane and got a starting direction, but when hes out what can he use as a heading? A slight error at the beginning would have put him a long way off course.

But anyway, I dont think there are many people that have actually jumped out of a plane with wings. Yes he may be lying, but as people have said it got the sponsers the publicity they wanted, impressed the wuffos and Im sure he enjoyed it. Even if he cant actually travel that fast Im sure the wings were an interesting experience.
