  1. All in all, we did it for the memories and they will last forever. Great times on top of the Space Needle. Who gets to do that kind of stuff?! They wanted to pay us but we declined. We were happy to help. The video turned out amazing! I think we are very privileged to have been a small part in it making. :)

  2. I gave up reading SK after Tommy Knockers. He just got to be too verbose. :P But my brother talked me into reading this one and I don't regret it. I think I saw him on an interview talking about how his son helped him rewrite the ending. That's why it turned out so great. I never liked how SK ended his books. This book is a must read! B|

  3. I use this one and love it! It's so nice to be able to charge on the go. It's also small so I can use my phone or other devices very easily while it's charging them. It comes with a bunch of adapters but I've also just plugged the cord that comes with my devices into it and it worked just fine. It also seems to charge my devices up really fast, although when I plug it in to recharge it takes awhile. (3 or 4 hours) That's the only draw back I've had with it. http://www.amazon.com/5600mAh-External-Battery-Charger-Flashlight/dp/B005K7192G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1362622323&sr=8-1&keywords=anker+power+bank

  4. For those that don't know who Macklemore is:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QK8mJJJvaes
That's his most famous song at the moment. The first time I saw that video I was a bit taken back, but seriously it grows on you and the song sticks in your head!

This is the song we were working on the new music video for today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgjwAZ9TR3U This is their new song and is all about how they started. How they are going it alone without any record label and succeeding through their perseverance. You may not like rap or that sort of music, but these guys are talented artists for what they are doing and achieving.

I also must say. Macklemore (the blonde lead singer) was the most polite, soft spoken, down to earth, nice guy. He was there with his friends and his girl friend today. Not once did I hear him swear or be loud or obnoxious. The working conditions weren't the best. We were up on top of the Space Needle in super cold wind chill factor temperatures. He was wearing the least clothing of anyone and never complained and made the whole experience good for everyone around him. It didn't seem like he was on his best behavior either. It seemed like that was just how he was. I was really impressed with him. It was a really great experience working with him.

  5. The summer between my junior and senior year of high school, some friends talked me into going out to the drop zone. I didn't really want to jump at all but peer pressure is a hard thing when you are that age. JohnMitchell was our instructor. The whole time I was trying to think of a way to get out of jumping. I really didn't want to do it! By the time our class ended the winds had kicked up so we couldn't jump. Got out of that! Whew! B|

The next week JohnMitchell got my phone number from my release form and called me to ask me on a date. After hanging up the phone I realized my mistake in accepting his date--- I would have to jump if I went out with him! :S But he was/is that hot so I made my first static line jump the next weekend. And we've been jumping together happily ever after. (June will be our 29th wedding anniversary.)

No matter how many pictures of half naked chicks they got on their website, in the end of they day, its just another terrorist organization.

Naw, now there are those groups that go around breaking into labs and freeing lab animals. That's criminal activity.

But running various campaigns to sway people to your point of view? That's democracy in action. I'm gonna always eat meat, but any gorgeous actress who wants to get naked in an attempt to change my mind has my blessing. B|

And you have my blessing to look all you want at that. B|

  7. Here's a couple more. Blast from the past. He was 14 when he did a tandem. Got down and asked him how he liked it. He said "Eh, it was OK". Decided he could make more money on the ground packing parachutes than he could going up and spending it. So he just didn't jump until now.

  8. I asked him how many packs he did this weekend and he said that not all of that money was from just packing. He wouldn't say anything more than that. I suspect he waited until we got a total and rounded it up to help us make it to 20K.

This is from a kid that works for minimum wage. He's not got a great paying job. $1,000 is a lot of money for anyone but especially him.

  9. The Leap for Lupus event this year was a ton of fun. Great weather, great food and great friends both there and not there, who supported us with this. Thanks to everyone that bought raffle tickets and made donations.

The raffle ticket buttons don't work anymore, the raffle is over. :( But we still have some shirts on sale and you can still make donations! B|

You can also raise money for the LFL to earn free tandems. You can do it and give it to someone that wants to do a tandem. Spread the word to those that say they can't afford to do a tandem but have always wanted to. Now they can do it for free for a bit of easy fund raising for a good cause.

Thanks again for everyone's support! <3 This not only helps me, but millions of others. You're awesome!!

[:/] So sorry to hear you're not feeling well enough to jump. Hugs & vibes all around! I'm one of the lucky ones -- the gene is in my family (and I have it), but nothing has hit me so far. Mom had AS (can't spell it), and her sister has Multiple Sclerosis, but both are doing very well right now. Happy to help you advance your most worthy cause!

    :)

Thanks again! Sorry to hear about your Mom and Aunt, glad they are doing well. Is it Ankylosing Spondylitis that your mom has? I've read that my chances of producing a child with lupus is around 10%. And I've produced 4 healthy ones! So I imagine that you would fall in that same category since those diseases are similarly predestined by genetics. However, should you start having symptoms, I'm sure you'd get a quick diagnoses and get started on treatments a lot faster than your Mom or Aunt did! In any case, life is short so jump while the sun shines! B|

  11. I sent you a private message to you TriGirl but thought I should also go ahead and post it here. You can send checks made out to "Leap for Lupus" in the snail mail to:

    Leap for Lupus
    14202 143rd Ave. Ct. E.
    Orting, WA 98360

Thanks so much for everyone's support on this!

This year's event is especially hard for me. This will be the first year I'm unable to jump at the Leap for Lupus event. Even after being hospitalized in '04 I was able to jump by August! But I just can't do it this year. I'll just have to cheer everyone from the ground.

I've had to take so much steroids and chemo therapies over the years that I'm dealing with fall out now. Aside from extremely bad bone density, my hip bones have avascular necrosis, which means the bones in my hips are dying. I had double hip surgery at the end of March where they drilled lots of holes into both my hip bones to try and get the blood flow back, but as of right now that hasn't worked yet. I was really hoping that I'd be back in the sky by now but, no such luck. They will check my hips again in October and at that time they may decide to put in artificial hip replacements. But for now, my hips are just too fragile and painful for me to walk a lot of the time, much less strap on a rig and jump. B|

So, aside from getting LOTS of raffle tickets, all of you will have to make a jump for me! I'm living vicariously now. And especially on the weekend of August 25th, even if you can't come to the event, go to your nearest DZ and make a jump for me! B| I will feel your fun and good vibes, I promise! Just jump and enjoy life!
