  1. While this could be a wonderfully interesting trip.... the name of the Club does give me pause.. Happily nothing to do with the "Darwin Awards" and the crabs are not mandatory!!
  2. Just for a change of pace come to the wilds of the Northern Territory, Australia The superlative Boogie for everything, jumpers have been turning up for over 30 years, some stay and some just keep coming back, everybody remembers. Always nice people, meet new friends, greet old friends, go fishing, spot crocs, get crabs, relax and enjoy the Darwin Parachute Club legendary hospitality. The facebook link is below, the email address is [email protected] http://www.facebook.com/groups/boogieinbatchelor/ The web site is currently being hijacked but we are working on it, nothing malicious just shitty. http://www.skydiveterritory.com.au/
  3. Any news on the next episode? Or is this thread suggesting a new show 'cos SDR is shutting down?
  4. Darwin Parachute Club has seen a varied and colourful history, from the building of the club to the many people that have made the club their home, if only for a short while. The majority of the facilities have been designed, built and decked out by club members. The club started in the early 1960’s with no running water, no power, a tin roof and packing in the dirt down near the cross strip. After Cyclone Tracy some dongas become available and the club moved to its current location, using some of the original tin to build an under cover packing area (our current bar). Facilities included the new packing area, a bunkhouse and a kitchen. In 1992 the government built a waiting area for the airstrip that consisted of toilets, showers and an under cover waiting area. In 1994 the club moved the bar to the old packing shed and constructed a brand new packing shed and manifest area. The bar has since been relocated slightly and enlarged to cater for the massive parties that occur during REL WEEK. Darwin Parachute Club is one of the few remaining drop zones in Australia that is still run as a club by the members. Club Mobile Phone: 0412 4427 45
  5. We have flatfly and freefly tutors coming for rel week, we may also have crw tutors but will know for sure closer to the date
  6. Cresco is a New Zealand built aircraft. I think it was originally designed for crop dusting. It was noted for it's ability to climb like a banshee (poetic license) and the one we are getting for rel week takes 17 to height in quick time. If you want more info email me at [email protected]
  7. Rel Week is officially ON!!!! July 30th- August 7th 2005 Great weather, Great people, Great parties, Fantastic air. What can I say? just Come! Darwin is a semi tropical paradise, our dry season is like spring every day, Batchelor airstrip is 100 km south of Darwin, we have terrific camping, great swimming holes close by, fishing available (catch the legendary Barramundi and dodge a crocodile or two!! Visit Kakadu National Park or Litchfield Park, Both are famous for the swimming and adventures. If you have any questions email me at [email protected] and if I don't know the answer I do know someone who does.
  8. If you are near Australia in July/August 2005 Darwin Parachute club are having a PARTY!!! The weather is great the people are friendly, the beer is cold, the Cresco is hot. Have a look at http:www.skydiveyerritory.com.au
