  1. You are right. My favorite scene was the round house kick scene:

Billy Jack is surrounded by Posner's thugs]

Mr. Posner: You really think those Green Beret Karate tricks are gonna help you against all these boys?

Billy Jack: Well, it doesn't look to me like I really have any choice now, does it?

Mr. Posner: [laughing] That's right, you don't.

Billy Jack: You know what I think I'm gonna do then? Just for the hell of it?

    Mr. Posner: Tell me.

Billy Jack: I'm gonna take this right foot, and I'm gonna whop you on that side of your face...
    [points to Posner's right cheek]

Billy Jack: ...and you wanna know something? There's not a damn thing you're gonna be able to do about it.

    Mr. Posner: Really?

    Billy Jack: Really.
[round house kicks Posner's right cheek, sending him to the ground]

While, the hostage scene, the round house kick scene and "One Tin Soldier" were ok, the acting and direction was seriously lacking.

  2. Uh Huh, thanks cocheese, this thread is perfect for me.
I haven't posted in about five years but I still keep up with you guys.

About four years ago, I broke two vertebrae in my back on a tandem jump - my student walked away, so I did my job - but I had to quit. Since then, I have taken up another “safer” sport – firearms competition and instruction.

I’ll continue to lurk, keep up with the sport and wish y’all blue skies, favorable winds and turbine aircraft.

    Love ya - mean it.

  3. I’ve owned and/or wadded up a few cars in my time:

    '66 Plymouth, 440, 4bbl, 4 speed
'54 Chevrolet Pickup – threw a rod – note to self, check the oil
'68 Ford Torino – TOTALED – Hoo wee, rain is slick
'73 Dodge Challenger – TOTALED – Late for school, didn’t make it
'76 Dodge Charger Daytona – WRECKED – my sister and a power pole got in my way
'76 Datsun Pickup – what was I thinking?
    '66 Chevrolet Chevelle, 350 Auto
    '72 Chevrolet Chevelle, 350, 4 speed
'69 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible – WRECKED – Hoo wee, snow is slick
    '68 Ford Pickup
'83 Buick Regal – TOTALED – OH, bright RED means they are stopping
    '84 Buick Skylark
    '85 Buick Skylark
    '84 Ford Mustang, 5.0, - TOTALED – 18 wheeler - NASTY

I just signed one for later in the year for a bit over 55000.00 for 4 jumpers with smoke & flags.

I've done a few stadium jumps, not nearly as many as twardo, and I am in the $100 to $300 average per jump range.

Airtwardo, did you include one too many zeros in your post? $55,000.00? or did you mean $5500.00? Just curious if we are doing something way wrong? Thanks.

  5. Hey Mike,
Now that you have broken 100 you need to update your profile numbers;) 84???? Congrats Man!

BTW, I'll see you at MetalFest! Would you mind if I throw an empty water bottle at you from 500 ft?
    Keith

At the end of the video it looks as though he's going to double stow the mouthlock bungee... isn't this a bad idea? I have always been told that it's single stow on mouthlocks only otherwise it's an increased risk of baglock? Can anyone comment on this?

IMO, I read somewhere that your stows need to be so tight that you can lift the bag by the lines and they will not unstow. On my main, I use small rubber bands and double wrap each one. Of course, a rigger is the best person to consult for packing techniques.

Hey, is that the Wright Brothers monument you're landing in front of? Too cool.

Didn't mean to hijack a Sharon Stone thread but yes, its from the 100 jumper demo at the First Flight Celebration at the Wright Bros Memorial in December last year.

  9. You hang in there girl. You'll get it figured out.

From my same experience, bunge is right on. The only thing I could add is to be expedient and efficient in your transfer from laying on it to S-folding it. While you are laying on it, correctly orient your bag to accept it and be quick with your transfer. Don't give it time to expand. Roll off and quickly do the S-folds efficiently and quickly while trapping the canopy and one corner of the bag against your knees as you slip the bag over one end of the canopy. Only then, as bunge said, move your focus to clean up the other end.

When all else fails, I just hire a packer that works under the direction of a rigger.

    Oops I misspelled "bunge"

  10. Actually, Frank was moved from Lake Wales to CSS in NC after Hurricane Charley. He needed some repairs to the rudder and leading edges of the wings. Those repairs were completed and he has flown jumpers at CSS for the past two weekends.

If the projected storm track holds true, he should be safe from Frances.

I hope everyone else is safe from her also.

Hurricanes, they make living and jumping on the US East Coast very interesting.

  11. I'm still undecided on my vote but on July 4th I did 2 demo jumps into a political rally that featured Michael. I had read about his skydiving connection in this forum so of course I ragged him about doing one of the demo jumps with us, 3 piece suit and all. He hung out with our demo team while we packed, etc.

I asked him to sign my logbook and he wrote:

"JUST SO YOU KNOW - FIGHTING FOR LIBERTY IS THE ONLY THING THAT COULD DRAG ME AWAY FROM SKYDIVING FOR THREE YEARS. NEVER FEAR. I'M GOING TO RESTORE LIBERTY SOON, AND THEN I'LL BE BACK IN THE AIR!

BLUE SKIES + HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!
    MICHAEL BADNARIK
    D-13144

Pretty cool guy for a Presidential Candidate.

    Edited to fix spelling.

  12. Thanks for the help everyone. Yep, all we have used are M18's rigged to a foot bracket that was made by a GK member. We rigged a parachute line to each pin then up the leg. Just after exit we then snatched the line to extract the pins. This demo requires a freefall formation in the shape of the signature mark of the sponsor. With the technique we have used with the M18s, we are in the formation before deploying the smoke.

Obviously we need a different technique with the cardboard cannisters. We have another practice session next Saturday to try again.
