Rich Brooks swears that during one of his jumps many years ago both his shoelaces came undone in freefall and entangled with each other... or was it Sparky flew up to him and tied his shoelaces together in freefall... anyway, I can't recall which he said it was really... old guy's stories change everytime you hear them. :S

Anyway, Rich, upon discovering his shoelaces were tied together after opening, he wasn't sure how he was going to run out the landing... until he remembered he had a hook-knife. :P

    that is freaking funny

  2. great point, ability to teach on the ground...such as keeping students focused was a huge part of the training, and yes I do agree with the new recomendations

You really have a problem here....
    You need to ask
    1. why did you do your first jump ?
    2. why did you do your next few jumps ?
    3. why did you keep jumping after that ?

I think you'll find the answer is different to each question .

My son & his friends called me a pussy
they all said "he will never do it again"
I fell in love with something they will never do twice
    Their loss...my gain

  4. To make a comment "how do you know you have a perfect reserve" seems to be a question no one can answer. It's almost like saying " does your hand break works in your car" I use it all the time of coarse it will work. "you don't know for sure. If you or anyone would not chop because "your not sure if your reserve is perfect" you might want to learn how to fly on your own, fuck the reserve.

are you gonna wake up in the morning, make me the beneficiary on your life policy if your sure

  5. I have been thru 3 canopy classes with different people & they all have some great info on the flight concepts of the canopy (how & why) but the flair concept can't be displayed on paper or speech (IMHO), it comes with doing it over & over again until that moment of depth perception becomes muscle memory. Videos are good but the video is a side shot that you have to translate into depth. I have used the wind sock (land ajacent) for a reference. Some ppl get it right from the start & others have to work more at it.

Thanks i understood you could do that I was just hoping they could reprogram and make it perminant.

I'm with you; I think it would be a nice option to have.

Too bad one of them doesn't offer it; might just generate a few more sales opportunities.

PS) Or 'you' could organize a letter-writing campaign. B|

it would also open up more room for human error. I happen to like the factory setting
