  1. I read that a vertical axis hook (the bobbin is horizontal), gives a more beautiful and stable seam, but for this you need to select the right threads. That is, the direction of twisting of the thread should be opposite to the direction of rotation of the hook. Some mechanics also say that these sewing machines are faster, because they have a special mechanism that prevents the thread from tangling when leaving the shuttle. Sewing machines with such a hook are significantly more expensive than models with a horizontal axis hook, so I wondered if it was worth spending more.
  2. Good day. I am looking for a industrial sewing machine for an new upholstered workshop. On my budget, I've found several unison feed sewing machines that I can buy in my country. These are the following models: Typical GC 20606-1 - (vertical-axis hook), (copy of Mitsubishi LU2-4410B) Typical TW1-1245 - (vertical-axis hook), (copy of Pfaff 1245) Juki DNU-1541 - (horizontal-axis hook) In your opinion, which of these sewing machines is best for my task? Is a vertical-axis rotary hook realy better than a horizonta one in terms of seam quality?
