  1. Man, everyone's acting like this guy is a hazard because he hadn't jumped with a kill line pilot chute. Why not just explain to him what it is and tell him to make sure and ask someone before jumping new gear to see if there is anything he needs to know about it. lesson learned.

  2. You can put your arms back to get upright but this would also lead to the bad habit of flying with your arms back and leaning forward. A lot of people fly with their upper body leaned forward and their arms back, but this really decreases your mobility. You want to have your knees and hips at 90 degree angles so you have a range of movement forward and backward.

  3. Hey Dan, If you are wearing those huge pants and a sweatshirt, thats going to make it a little more difficult to begin with. The best thing is to wear tight pants or shorts and something baggy on top. Make sure to get your arms straight out to the side and push your heels down into the wind.

  4. I've had a couple really crappy shots. One is called a death shot which is pretty much everything in existence mixed together. They take every bottle in the bar and throw it in there and then a bunch of tabasco (sp), pickle juice, black pepper, salt, tomato juice, etc... and its NASTY!

There's also a shot they have at the bar I usually go to called Timmy's (bartender) mom on the rag, which is a red shot with vodka and irish cream so it kurdles.

These shots are mainly something you order to trick and potentially piss off an unknowing friend.

  5. Guys, if you ever want to mess with your girlfriend Tell her this... (it would probably work for girls too)

Do you consider a blowjob cheating? "yes" Well what if it was a stripper? "yes" But what if you were really really drunk and barely remember? "yes"

after she says yes to all 3 questions, just say "good to know"

  6. Don't tip over backwards or fall off. Just put one foot back, let go of the balloon and let gravity take your other foot off. Whatever momentum you leave with you will continue with since its dead air. If you leave in a sit/stand type position, you will be able to look up at your jumpers and not flip over when you leave. Then just kind of recline back and track away on your back.

  7. Does anyone have any experience flying both the viper and cobalt and can you explain how they fly differently. I know the cobalt is a later version of the viper, but I was wondering if the viper "flys bigger" like the cobalt, opens like it, flares like it etc.....

  8. I just got an EVO at SDC. The strap takes a little getting used to, but I like the helmet. It's just your basic shell that holds audibles. I really like it because it has two internal audible ports that are right next to your ears. It won't provide near the protection of the pro-tec or the mindwarp, but it fits really nice, wasn't too expensive and works for what I bought it for.

  9. Looks like Judith Grale (SP?) in Arizona. To all the birdmen out there, is the birdman in the picture flying at full speed or does it look like he is slowing down for the surfer?

  10. Awesome week and weekend for me. I got in 40 at Skydive Chicago and had an awesome time with all the people there and then got another 6 in Minnesota this weekend. The sad part is, I now have class on weekends (hence the recent jumping trips)

if you need to finance a gear loan, go talk to a local banker and work 1 to 1.

Wouldn't getting a loan to buy skydiving gear be like getting a loan to feed your crack habit? I'm doing my best to pay for everything skydiving related in cash (I'm also jumping 5 year old gear that I'd prefer not to be jumping :S).

Ya but you can't use your crack that you buy with your loan thousands of times and then sell it used to someone when your done with it.

  12. If you take this resume at face value, let me tell you about a little chemical called Hydrogen Hydroxide that kills thousands every year and should be banned from use worldwide.

  13. I think scotchguard will probably make that cleaning a little easier. I've heard of taking a rig to a carwash but not a jumpsuit. I usually just spray the stains with Shout or Zout and wash on gentle and air dry. A car wash sounds kinda harsh.

This is true so long as you don't use a wide angle lens. FWIW I use an FF2 and am happy with it. (Am buying Flat top pro though - more mounting options/space). But will definitely keep using my FF2 for freeflying.

If you use a lense from Max Cohn or Way cool industries, there are still no snag points because the lenses are so thin.
