Made me go look at mine. Looks like they put some kind of solder in there to bind all those loose ends together and to smooth out the external surface after grinding, which would eliminate this problem. This would be a Jump Shack pin. [inline RipcordPinend1sm.jpg]

There is also a crown in the upper right corner. Looks like obscured vision, and tint too dark, to me. He needs to be pulled over by a cop.
