  1. Hey there everyone, Wondering, does anyone know a skydiver that lives in Jasper, Alberta or close to there that might be willing to offer a ride once in a while? thanks Butters “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. 2. Lesson learned: next time I'm ordering from Phoenix-Fly! At least I'm not the only one. April 26th? Wow! I'm still not relieved though. I'm a student that lives far from a dropzone and doesn't own a car, so my season is now over. I have to wait until next May to jump it! “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. 3. I ordered a Firebird back on May 11th, and still haven't received it (right now that's a few days under 15 weeks delivery time). I was never told how long it would take, but sometime after I placed my order the website was updated to say delivery time would be 12 weeks. I was told on the 25th of July that the suit would be shipped within 2 or 3 weeks. Not sure what's going on now. Anyone in the same boat as me? “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. 4. Am I allowed to post it? Anyone in Vancouver, WA wanna take a drive with a carton of eggs? We'll see how it works out tomorrow. Canada Post does offer a way to get a photocopy of the money order. I'm going to call them or stop in tomorrow and find out. But I'm not sure what can be done. “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. 5. I bought a dytter off a user in the classifieds, thought it would be alright, he was selling a few things and had a history on DZ.com. He's made a few posts, seemed like it would be alright. Sent a postal money order on June 12th, haven't heard from the sender since then. Before he would reply to an email within hours; now, nothing. The dytter was suppose to be shipped to a DZ in the US where I could pick it up. But they haven't seen anything. They'll look for it today and I have to call tomorrow. Got a phone number from the guy, didn't call it before but now it will ring for a bit and then give a busy signal. So I have the strong feeling I've been screwed and am out about a hundred bucks. I'm holding off claiming the item I bought and the other item up for sale as a scam until tomorrow so I know for certain. Give time for the DZ to look around and the user to respond to one last email. Anyone have any advice on what I can do? I've heard the USPS will investigate these kinds of things, but I live in Canada and the seller is in Washington, so I don't think anyone would really care. This might be an expensive lesson leaned... frick “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. It has power, grace, speed and cluture. 6. Nope, that was jump #31 in Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada. And it is on my wall, my mom was nice enough to frame it and put it where my grade 8 grad picture use to be . “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. It has power, grace, speed and cluture. 8. I've been there, I think I had two shoulder dislocations by jump #50. Welcome to the club! I'm not a doctor, I just have experience with my arm falling off in freefall, so keep that in mind. There is a really good chance your shoulder will never be the same. But in the way life is never the same after you realize your parents have had sex. The sport will still welcome you with open arms. You've already taken the right step, see a doctor. He will have the best advice. If he sends you to PT, follow the instructions you are given, if you push too hard it can set you back, and do all the exercises. Is there any chance there is a good sports medicine clinic near you? They might have more experience, but MMV. Surgery may seem like the quick fix, and many people will scream praises about it. But it comes with its own risks. It was only after about three dislocations in freefall and when my shoulder would pop out in bed that I was sent for a surgical consult. Even if you do have surgery, there will always be a chance of future dislocations. Plus, with PT, you could be jumping again in a month, with surgery... who knows. Again, a doctor will have the best advice. About the wingsuits, the standard wingsuit body position is very safe for your shoulder. A lot of dislocation are caused by hyperextending your arm above your head, and the further dislocations are caused by an inability of prevent the hyperextension. With a wingsuit you would really have to try to get yourself into a really unstable should position. Could it still happen? *shrug* ask your doctor. I hope not because I have a firebird on order. Oh, also for the landing. It looks like you came out ok, so I'd say you did the right thing. Flaring with both arms and sliding on my ass is what I've done every time. “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. It has power, grace, speed and cluture. 9. Cool, didn't know they did that, good thing I asked. Thanks alot for the tip. I guess tomorrow I'll send in my order for suit number two and then call birdman about the ribs. “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. It has power, grace, speed and cluture. 10. Another person looking to soar. But I'm stuck on the suit colours, and nobody I know has been much help so far because the options are almost the same. So I need dz.com's help. Think you can design something better? Cool, please post a pic. In case you were wondering, suit is a firebird, and the colours were picked because it's what colour my rig and helmet are. I never tried to co-ordinate, the gear just followed me home! thanks “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. It has power, grace, speed and cluture. 11. I can't find anything to dispute that. The only thing I've ever found in the Canadian Air Regs is for demo jumps over built up areas etc. Then the reserve has to have been packed by a "certificated parachute rigger". Other than for that, a bogus reserve pack job etc. is just an internal CSPA matter. (I hope everyone still feels free to discuss the 'bogus pack job' issue as it would apply in their own country, whether that's the USA, Canada, or anywhere.) If this is a CSPA matter, what could the CSPA do to the jumper? The CSPA isn't into enforcement as I recall. And the TSA, the only government agency that has any influence on Canadian skydiving, only cares about the planes and the pilots. Aww, where's Bill Cole when you need him? “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. It has power, grace, speed and cluture. And most importantly, two fat bastards smacking the shit out of each other. ”
  12. He has to wait his turn before he hooks up with a skychick
  13. LMAO! But you're going to have to submit photo's so everyone can evaluate your form and track progress. What's the material like? Balloon ZP is a new term for me and for some reason brings to mind a matter suit. “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. It has power, grace, speed and cluture. 14. Someone was going to ask sooner or later, and this might be a little soon. But... other then what Costyn said, does anyone have any other comparisons about the Firebird vs. the Phantom? Or your opinion on why someone should buy one over the other other then price? ALso, does the Phantom come with a leg cutaway system? thanks “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports.
