Something to consider; Don't rush it. I busted my knee (no surgery and no cast, only the tendonds) and was grounded for 2 months, It felt like forever but a permanent injury will prevent you from jumping. Blue skies, quick recovery.

The Z1 is a great helmet. I own one and its been great so far. A new one should run you about +- 250. The best thing it has is the flip up visor which really comes in handy. The A3 is about the same price range, dont have any comments on it though. One word of advise would be try em out first and see what fits better.
