  1. Because of my hand size most gloves don't fit me well. If the fingers are the right length, the palm is to narrow and vice versa... I bought these gloves at a local store so I could try them on. A good test to try your gloves is opening and closing your pants and zipper. These gloves are a perfect fit for me! They are highly recommended, but I suggest to try them in a store.
  2. I've started using my Optima II after 45 jumps. Of course you need altitude awareness and confidence with a altimeter first, but what's wrong with a back up?? I did a jump with a broken altimeter (not my Altitrack :-) ). Fortunately it was one of my AFF jumps (intructor gave my the signal to pull) because I found out the altimeter was broken under my canopy. After a couple of 360 turns it still said 3000ft. I had enough experience to know that I lost height and found a safe landing spot. If this happened during a solo jump I'm sure my AAD would have activated. So, why no back up? Back to the Optima II. Because of my good experience with my Altitrack I decided to stay with L&B for my audible as well. I chose this one and not the Solo II because it has multiple free fall profiles. I can switch easily between 4 profiles and my beeps under the canopy are the same every jump. I really like the glide path and it has improved my landings. If I had to buy one today (2013) I'd get the new Quattro because it gives me more options.
  3. I've made my first jump with my Altitrack in 2007. I bought it because I'm really in to gadgets, but it's more then just a gadget. I like to simplicity on the "analog" side. During freefall you don't need to know your exact altitude and the big numbers and the colours (4000ft and below) make it easy to read. On the other side (inside) it has a very easy to use and extended logbook. I personally don't use the playback functions. Just freefall time, heights and speeds. Like some other people wrote before, I also had some problems with the software which L&B fixed very fast and appropriate. So here are a couple of things I don't like about the Altitrack although it is an awesome altimeter and highly recommended! - I used it in 2007 and 2008 for about 31 jumps. I didn't jump some years and started again in 2012. This year (2013) I had to replace my battery. - I don't like the Jump-Track software. It has a very old fashioned look and it is not really user friendly. - Some jumps with a short freefall (hop & pop) where not detected by the device. - I would like to see a different way to attach the finger loop. The current velcro doesn't work 100%. That said, I love my Altitrack and my other L&B products! This product is highly recommended. Blue Skies!
