  1. Sorry.... I have to think this hard. working 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, can only turn someones head skyward and to birdy thoughts! Fido - Some info would be appreciated thanks.
  2. Ah, didn't think they had it there. I only followed the Empuria website to the babylon boys. I'll check that out thanks. Still, does anyone have any comments on my original post?
  3. Hi, I'm off to Empuria end of September and am getting very excited! Naturally! Whilst I'm out there I'm gunna sign up to the Babylon wingsuit school and learn to fly on their s-fly suits. From hearing everyone elses comments and as most people have bought birdman suits, I'm probably gunna get a GTi when I get home. (Hopefully make flocking easier?) Just wanted some peoples oppinions on what differences ( if any) I'll come up against after learning on an s-fly and transfering to a GTi. I suppose the ground school theory about flight patterns and such would be the same? Are the body positions pretty much interchangable? Would I need additional coaching from a BMI if I left Empuria with a good s-fly body position? I'm so looking forward to flocking with you guys soon!
  4. The camera's actually a Minolta Dimage S414. Thanks for the Harbortronics link. Had a look, but couldn't find anything relevant.
  5. Hi, I've just started jumping a digital stills camera that has no port for bite switches etc on it. It does have an infra red remote with it though. Talking to people about how best to take photos they suggested I might be able to somehow attach a bite switch to the remote and fasten the remote to the helmet, close to the IR sensor. The only thing is I don't have a clue where to begin!!! Has anyone made this type of modification before? Or any general ideas how I could go about it? Thanks Steve
  6. Hi, I can't wait to join you guys with the wingsuit flying it looks fantastic!!!! Although living in the UK, jump numbers is a bit of a problem(you need over 500!). Anyway, thats another story altogether. My only wingsuit experience is watching vids (which are amazing!), so I'm probably right off track with this, but whenever I see a wingsuit flocking dive the rabbit is flying on his back. Now these wingsuits are designed to create lift using the shape of a wing, right? so if someone is flying on their back doesn't the reverse happen? i.e rabbit drops a lot more so the flockers have to retract their wings to increase their fall rate to catch them? It just seems a bit of a shame to not be using the suits to their max on wicked fun big ways! So has anyone tried modifying a suit or are birdman going to develop suits for backflying so you guys can get the most out of it in these situations?(the same suit just backwards). I suppose you'd only need one suit per DZ and I would have thought most regulars would be willing to chip in a bit for it?Just a thought. Hope to be joining you in 100 jumps time!!
  7. Thanks for the advise. Just a couple of questions: I've got the Minolta S414 and I don't think the Harbonics adapter is complatible. The clay mould idea looks great but can it handle skydiving without falling to bits? How much would it cost to get a remote hardwired in? I'm temped to just get a clamp, weld it to the helmet plate and use the screw mechanism to push the button down! Cheers Steve
  8. Hi, I've just bought a digital camera thats got a really good continuous mode on it. Only problem is the shutter release button needs to be pressed constantly. To make matters worse, there's no socket for plugging in a remote. The only way of remote controlling is via infra red. I thought of getting a clamp that can screw down onto the button to hold it in place. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas how best to do it, if there's anything on the market to help etc. Coz my DIY skill aren't great!! Cheers
