  1. For those long graveyard shifts to get your fix... http://www.bubblebox.com/play/sport/124.htm
  2. Just wondering what the local authorities do to busted foreign jumpers in Taiwan, might want to consider that first. Breaking the law in Asia can be...interesting.
  3. I fear the RSL. The thought of going for the cutaway while being in an unstable spin and possibly getting tangled up in the reserve is frightening. I like having the option of controling the time between cutting away the main and going for the reserve. I prefer getting a grip on both the cutaway and silver. Pull cutaway, followed immediately by silver. If unstable, give it abit more time, so the main can seperate away from me, before going for silver. I guess whatever makes people comfortable. Don't think there's a right or wrong. RSL discussions can go on forever. As far as AADs go, ask anyone who was saved by one. Take Air.
  4. New jumpers get into trouble when they rush pulling the PC. This can cause one of your legs kicking out, body to jerk and spin while your PC catches air, and possibly come between your legs, or cause a nice riser burn on your hand... Don't forget that you are in a stable freefall while grabing your PC and holding your left hand infront of your head. Many new jumpers think if they take too long they will spin out of control. Simulate a PC throw at higher altitudes to see how easy it is to do it in a nice smooth motion an keep a steady body position. Take Air.
  5. On my last jump from 10k, 3 of us went through a thick cloud layer at around 4500. (Used GPS for spot). Once in the cloud layer, there was no visibility and I had no clue where the other jumpers were. Then my Dytter went off at 3500 and I was still in the thick cloud with no visibility. That was pretty scary, since I told everyone I'm dumping at 3000. How low was this cloud layer going to go? Should I dump at 3000 regardless? Also, I didn't know where the other 2 jumpers were when we entered the cloud layer. Above or Below me? Maybe they are right above me and just don't know it. Finally visibility again just below 3000 and just before I go for my PC I see one of the jumpers doing a full track, but not away from me, more like to the side without really gaining too much distance. So he probably didn't know were I was either. Anyways, the jump went well. My opinion, if you can avoid jumps over thick cloud layers, then do. But if you ever happen to be on a jump like this. Make good visual of all other jumpers before entering the clouds, so you know where to track. If you don't know where they are, don't track, because you don't where you're going. Take Air.
