  1. Welcome to the sky! take my advice with a grain of salt because i'm still a newb. But take your instructors advice before you take advice fromt total strangers here on DZ.com. dont get me wrong theres alot of knowledge here, but it's still online and not in person, your intructors will take care of you. happy falling!

  2. Why do miserable people stay on the path that keeps them miserable?????
Case in point a guy at work hates his job and everyone there, is a couple states away from his kids, which im sure is hard but you need to leave that shit at the door when you get to work. He's pissy everyday, and I speak my mind so when I told him that if hated his job, he should drag up stakes and go find something he enjoys. And then he proceeds to bitch me out about whats wrong with my life! ????? Thats when i said "hahaha, I wonder if they sell just the green gummy bears?" And left the room. Some peoples kids.

  3. Welcome, i'm a newb, but am completly addicted as well! I've been wanting make a trip to Aus in the next two years for the hell of it and now with skydiving, it would make the trip double the fun.
    laters!

  4. If you are trying to justify, this being a "past-time" for yoursef. No one can tell you its worth it or not, you have to decide that for yourself. I can tell you my experience, is after my first tandem i was hooked and couldn't think nothing more than getting back up there, but up until a year ago the closest dz was 3 hours away. so now that im close to one it's game on. You don't have to give up your old friends either, making new friends around the DZ is one of the great parts about this sport. yes it is expensive but well worth it i think.

  5. This might help to better understand flare charcteristics of the canopy. he seems to know what he's talking about. but continue to talk to everyone at your DZ and gather as many tips as you can, and find out what works best for you. Take this with a grain of salt because i'm still a newb.

  6. I don't mind a moderate amount of snivel, it sure makes a comfortable opening, I was just curious if diffirent canopies had more or less of it. I definatley don't want to get slammed. Thanks for the info. The more input i can get at this stage, makes me that much the wiser.

  7. I'm looking to purchase my first canopy and just wanted to know which canopies have the least amount of "snieval" I jumped two today that seem to take forever(800ft) to open up, maybe it's just my newb state of mind that doesn't like that, but im just looking for some input. Thanks.

  8. yeah, i'm going through my DZ's gear guru mainly. I've got it decided to buy a new harness/container so it fits me, new reserve, but going to look for a slightly used main, so i can save some scratch and downsize some what economicaly. Eventually I'll get a new main too. Thanks for the advice.
