I-285 is the perimeter freeway that makes a loop around Atlanta.
If you exit on 285 at the top (north) end there a lot of hotels right near the exit. There are several restaurants and bars, too.
I live right in that area and can tell you that it is safe.
Let me know if you want/need specific hotel details.
Or Thanatos can step up and plan a Pink Pony outing. Then you won't care where you stay.
