I am sorry but, when germany had massive floods last year nobody helped us. I would not have expected anybody to help us either, we even helped poland deal with those same floods. I think the only money we might have gotton was from the EU and thats basically money we had payed for catastrophies in other EU countries. Would you have expected money for 9/11? Did we not imediately declare solidarity? Did we really do nothing and are we really doing nothing for operation enduring freedom or Afghanistan? Was there no investigation on 9/11 in germany? Who gave you massive support in the first gulf war, from what countries did a lot of the money for that war come from and in whos economy did it flow into? Did you really mean ZERO when you worte ZERO or did you mean it did not seem like much to you. I know american media and politicians like to make you think your friends do not support you at all, but the only thing your friends opose is your Iraq war. I agree with everything you wrote, but i had to comment on the part i quoted. The part i did not quote mostly regards to events that are the basics of the US, not specific events of the past 50 years.

My eyes are open, thats why i asked for events in the past 50 years or so. One event could be the supply of west Berlin during the blockade of the Soviets. There is more and i am interested in the views of americans about these events, people etc. that make you proud. But if i think what you have achieved and are proud of are not even above average for 1st world countries, i will mention it. What happend in Europe bevor 1945 is part of the reason why germans opose war and are suspicious when someone starts a war. Most Germans also know the price of liberation. The price for the liberation of germany was payed on serveral sides and the price was higher than anything prior in history. The most important thing about WWII is to prevent something like this to ever happen again and the 1st world needs to work together and talk to achieve this. Did i answer what you asked for? Ok, i can agree to the concerns about the amount of aid in $. So Amazon is right in what she wrote. The link i provided refers to the GNP (or Bruttosozialprodukt), it also mentions data from 1997. On the right side of the first page in the link you can see the amount in Billion (Mrd.) Dollars for 1997. In that year the US only gave 4.2 times as much as Denmark. Denmark has 5.3 Million inhabitants, the US has 280 Million. Can you calculate that if you look at the EU as a single country? I would never do that, because it is highly inacrurate, productivity is much higher in countries where labor is more expensive. In Germany labor is very expensive. Still the cost of labor per produced item is the, or almost the lowest in the world. I don't think i want to work as many hours as americans do, nor do i want to not enjoy my vacation as long as i do.

So who voted for the US as the country to lead the world? Isn't it more like who ever has the most power/money rules, not very democratic. Americas development aid compared to the GNP is lower that that of most European countries. He got them from companies in all western nations, thats nothing to be proud of, if it happend in the time of the embargo, companies that did that where condemned. But it sure goes for my country where there was even a discussion if a politician can be proud to be german. But i guess thats an exception. huuuh? If i would have a high payed job, then yes, that could be interesting, because of the tax. But if not, i am not willing to lose my good pay, my 28 days of vacation and my right to drive as fast as i desire. I don't think many Europeans would do that, i have even heard of the oposite case.

I have experienced that when i was in a US school, although its a long time ago. But isn't that the same feeling that makes it possible to make 60% of all Americans believe that Iraq was a terorist threat? (Before the war started) Are you aware of the bad?

This question came to my mind lately, since it is a long time ago i was in the US the last time. I would like to know what makes americans so proud of their country? Why are americans a lot more patriotic than most other countries? I would be particularly interested in events you are proud of that happend in the last 50 or so years. PS: This is not meant to be a provocative question, i am aware of a lot of things americans can be proud of.

Thanks for the replies, i was actually exprecting a few more incidents. Not a lot with riser covers was mentioned, but far more premature deployments then i expected. I will keep a closer eye on my PC pouch in the future.

I don't get it why didn't the other line group unstow? If the PC keeps pulling the bag should open unless something blocks it, like a line throug one of the bundel of lines afer the looking stow. What pulled the pin on the main?

Can anybody tell me about incidents or unsafe situations that accured due to non freefly friendly gear? I have read a lot about freefly friendly gear and stuff, but barely anything about real incidents that happend. What is the greates danger with non freefly friendly gear?

i agree with everything you said, no counting on "comfort factors" but one should try to create "comfort factors. A low wingloading can be safer but among the low turn incidents there are also quite a number with low wingloadings, eventhough most people strictly think of low turn incidents as high performance canopy accidents.

@PhreeZone The L-Bracket is mounted on 3 screws, but i have made 6 holes in the bracket so far. That way i can change between two positions, one with the camera pointing exactly in front of me and the other with a few degrees up. If i find my optimal position in between both holes i will make an elongated hole. I can also adjust the horizontal arangement of the picture by thightening the upper two screws more or less than the one on the lower end. @ cheneyneel Good idea with the swing hinge, but i am afraid that will require big adjustments to the cover i allready made. I will go to a Hardware store and see what types of hinges they offer. Lets see how long it takes before i get anoyed. @everyone else Thanks.

Hi, i made my own Helmet mount and would like to hear a few opinions from the pro´s. I allready showed this setup in an early stage to a cameraguy and rigger at my dropzone, but would still like some more opinions especially about safety. As you can see i made a cover over the whole camera that should reduce the number of snag points to a minimum. It is made of glasfiber and polyester. It is mounted on the Helmet (Bonehead) with screws that fit into the metal threads. These are put into the helmet itself with glasfiber and polyester. The srew size metric M5. There are 3 srews for the cover and 3 for the L-Bracket. The L-Bracket is made of alumnimum of course. The wole setup is removable because i don't want to jump with camera all the time and i am not buying a second bonehead for none camera jumps. I can turn the camera (Sony PC2E) on and press rec through the hole in the cover you can see in helmhinten.jpg . I can see the rec light with a mirror mounted on my alti through the triangular hole in the front, but i am not confident that will work good in a crowded plane. As an alterenative a have experimented with a light sensor that gets the light form the rec light and turns on a LED that i can mount anywhere i want. Much cheaper than a cam eye. I don't have a cutaway jet, do i need one with a setup like that? I am going to get a chincup next week, but i will still see how a can mount that. The only real disadvantage is that i have to remove 3 srews to get to my camera to make adjustments or watch the tape. Will be kind of anoying, but i think i will be far more anoyed with lines entagled on my helmet. I haven't done any camera jumps so far, but i am planing to start this year, is this a good beginner setup? Thanks in advance.
