Bonehead chincup

I recently put a Bonehead chincup on my mindwarp. Has anyone here cut the excess plastic that sticks out of the end of the ratchet system?? If so, how much do you leave to stick out? Also, does this cause any problems with putting the chincup back onto the plastic strips if you take the chincup off on one side?

I have cut mine so that +/- 1 inch stick out when done up. Had no problems getting it in. Just smooth of the rough edges.

I cut mine about 2 inches on both and round up the end....everything find. I never remove completly the chin cup just loose it up.
