BPA 4W nationals

Recommended Posts

Entertaining initial draw this year. We dropped a 17 point round in having the BPA 2007 Nationals "A Draw" withdrawn for obvious and understandable reasons. Maybe I'll just claim that as a competition average. Our "B" Nationals might be closer to reality. We have all been mucked around, but think about the teams working through qualification for the next World Meet.

And your message to the guru [or multiple personalities] who put us here is....?

The weather was pants, let's hope we can get through things next weekend without too much impact on 8-w and FF.

PS There seemed to be a growing blame culture to drop responsibility on ESL/NSL. Click option 4 and 5 as well as the other statements on this poll.

I really like NSL / ESL concept. I'd hate to lose it.

Allowing other countries to use the weekend draw early is OK but they must accept that they have it early and take efforts to keep it concealed - putting it on your website is completely out of order.

Teams, and their coaches, competing that weekend should not be looking around at other competitions / websites occuring in the week. If you see a draw done in the week you certainly shouldn't use that as a practice draw, random draws are so easy to make if you are practicing and there are plenty of previous ones available if you want to compare.

If you as a team member or a coach do happen to become aware of a draw that might be the draw for the weekend then you should step away from deciding on any prep dives that you do.

If on receiving the draw you realise that you have practiced it then you should bring it to the attention of the judges immediately rather than allowing jumping to start and then to be thrown out.

The irony is that by allowing Sweden to compete within the NSL/ESL system early, they have in fact affected the NSL scores more by removing a comparable 47 teams.
If a country wishes to partake in NSL/ESL system they should start the same day as everyone else or take a separate draw.

If you recognise the draw on the Friday night, it is your duty to inform the judges there and then. Knowing the draw and keeping quiet about it should be comparable to practicing the draw beforehand and disqualification the penalty. This is almost impossible to police, but perhaps this rule would ensure the element of trust is always applied by the competitors and coaches.

Having the UK FS rep on our team, he had taken specific steps, including the involvement of judges, before the Nationals to ensure he did not receive the draw and / or have access to the draw from Kurt [skyleague] and put himself and teams associated with him [competitor or coached] in a compromising position.
