Meso 38 #1 September 4, 2012 The following user has been reported by several users as a scammer. The user put up an ad over the past few days which was copied from another website, he then asks for payment via paypal. PLEASE NOTE: The ads are often generic and copied and pasted from other legitimate ads, so if you see an ad using the exact wording in the message, we recommend you avoid doing business with it. They will often merely change the name of the item for sale. Username: atthew Ad: QuoteThis is an almost brand new rig - valued at over 6500 new!! Wings Container DOM 2009 - less than 40 jumps! Sabre2 190 main - less than 40 jumps PD 176 Reserve reserve - Zero Jumps! The harness is sized for someone 5'9 and medium build and will fit 5'7 - 5'11 easily This user is using a scam that is increasing in popularity on sales websites throughout the internet, where they will copy and paste a legitimate advert from another website so that the wording sounds as though it is really a skydiver, making it very difficult to decipher whether the user is legitimate or not. We highly recommend attempting to ask questions that are difficult for scammers to answer relating to their item, that they could not know from copy and pasting. If there is any doubt as to whether the seller is legitimate or not, we also recommend considering asking them to work the sale through their dropzone. We ask you to remain vigilant when it comes to online purchases. The user has been removed from the site.
merica 0 #2 September 4, 2012 Thanks for the heads up, I actually emailed this guy for pictures and more measurements, he sent some pictures but didn't know anything about the rig so something didn't feel right. From now on i'll report anything that doesn't seem legit!
ChicagoPhil 0 #3 September 5, 2012 I emailed this guy about the rig. He was very insistent about having the money sent immediately. He asked that I transfer it to his "wifes bank account". It was under the name Tresa Baize. If you are asked to deposit money in an account with that name.... DON'T
LongJohnDM 0 #4 September 7, 2012 This Tresa Baize created another User Name (Pudiolt) and gave me a similar run down. When I asked for pictures of the Pilot 150, he sent me pictures of a Sabre 190. Then pictures of a completely different canopy, neither of which match the description of canopy in the for sale ad. He couldn't get a hold of the label either...Quote
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
