SpectreDriver 0 #1 June 9, 2010 Another "mini-boogie" going down at the Coast! Caravan arrives around 3PM on Friday, July 2nd; will stay til interest is gone on Monday. Couple of Lessons Learned from Last time: -"B" License jumpers can still come, but please KNOW your capabilities! The landing area will be bigger this time, but it still ain't 10 acres. -Bring Flotation Gear unless you are a D-license or above. -If anybody has little tents/ awnings/ shade available, bring em. We have several, but more is better in Texas in July. -Swooping will be monitored closely: anybody flying fast enough to scare the public or worry the cops will be asked to leave. Speed limit on the beach is 15mph for cars-- we need to try to adhere to that. (Exceptions may be made when the beach is empty; early morning, late evening...) -No inflatables or similar items; when the locals see stuff falling, they call 911. We gotta keep a low-profile if we want to keep this going! Sorry to be a SQUARE, but believe us, you'll still have FUN!!!

SpectreDriver 0 #3 June 29, 2010 Alex Update: The tropical storm shouldn't affect the Boogie-- it is predicted to make landfall 2 days before the plane even arrives! It should be well inland by Saturday leaving clear skies behind it!

Beachbum 0 #5 June 30, 2010 QuoteBut the surfing should be great before the Weekend Good?? ... dunno about that. It'll be big allright, but with that much wind it will also be a washing machine. As long as you are happy with yourself ... who cares what the rest of the world thinks? SpectreDriver 0 #7 July 3, 2010 This Event has been postponed by 1 week due to Hurricane Alex-- or rather his "residue"... We are still experiencing low ceilings and occasional rainshowers even though the storm passed almost 48 hours ago! The Caravan is re-scheduled to arrive on Friday the 9th at 3:00 PM and stay for the weekend! Hope folks can still make it.
