Jumping in Melbourne in the Winter?

Recommended Posts

Howdy,

This goes out to Melbourne area skydivers. I see that there is at least one DZ with a turbine. I have been asked tgo there for 6 months for work. What is jumping like there during your winter (now)? Can I still expect to get a decent weekend and a few week days in or do things slow down a lot? The season just got going here (Denver) so I just can't go if I can't get a jump season in!

Thanks, Simon

Hey!

There is DEFINITELY still jumping! It's a bit colder now for sure, bring your thermals and a neck warmer. The days have been hovering around 20 degrees (I'm in Wollongong), and it's slightly colder in Melbourne.

The DZ you want is called "Nagambie". Here's the website: http://www.skydivenagambie.com/

Now get your butt onto SkySurfer and meet some of your new friends! :) http://www.skysurfer.com.au/

Happy travels!

You guys need thermals/neck warmers when its 20 degrees?!?!?!?! :P

That may as well be a good summers day in the UK! You should try jumping in the winter here, -10 at altitude isn't uncommon!

:D:D
